Umbrella: The Most Wasteful Movie Corporation Ever
Saw this one the other day. They are pretty much spot on. It doesn't even consider the 4th movie...
It reminds me of that sketch on the RPD dispatch, where the 2 umbrella execs talk about what they're going to do with Alice - none of it makes any kind of logical sense.
That's what my beef has always been with the movie Umbrella. The retardedness that they build a facility, the purpose of which is to create a highly contagious virus which could potentially destroy the entire world. So, they put an AI in charge of it to make sure everything is kept in order. When they find out she has completely shut the facility down and murdered all the personnel (which to be honest, I'd do if a virus that could wipe out the human race had escaped), they don't think that perhaps she was trying to make sure it doesn't get out, they simply brand her a "homocidal bitch" and send a team down there.
Then, in the second film, even after they know the virus has escaped in The Hive (they must have due to seeing Max and his infection with the T-Virus), they simply decide to "WE'RE RE-OPENING THE HIVE, LET'S SEE WHAT WENT ON DOWN THERE LOLZ".
Normally I can overlook the dumb elements of the movies, but that has always really bugged me.
I'd always thought how selfish it actually was of the protagonists of the first film to still actually try to shut the Red Queen down and escape the Hive (even after infection and knowing it could also be airborne so could escape if the doors were opened again).
I could just about understand the folks trying to get out of the lab. They wanted to live. Yes, it wasn't the smartest move on there part but it is the choice I suspect a majority of people would make.
It was the morons who re-opened the Hive that really draw my ire. 'These people have clearly been infected by the killer virus we feared had been released and everyone killed because we told the computer to do that if it leaked. Better open it up and double check though.'
Well, that and just about everything else in the movies...I watched Afterlife a day or two ago and my brain is still detailing new ways the movie failed.

That could take untold weeks, since the entire movie was one giant steaming pile of FAIL.
In fairness, I liked it more than Apocolypse and it seems to be onpar with Extinction for my money. I'll write more about it later tonight, if I get a moment.
