Question about the RE1 VAs...

Sorry for this, just as I remember the Inezh: Where is she now? topic that kind of died a while ago but I was just wondering if RE1 Jill's VA was absolutely confirmed (since we've had it said that it was Una Kavanagh, Lisa Faye and a fair amount more off the top of my head)?

Just as I know it was confusing between the live action cast to the voice acting cast, or those who provided both such as Barry and Lynn.

I was just wondering as I was playing another Capcom game and thought one of the VAs sounded somewhat similar and it just made me wonder since I remember how the information regarding the RE1 cast has it's ups and downs since a fair bit of the information has been tampered with on IMDB a few too many times in the past too.

I was ripped and uploaded two of the samples you hear from her early in the game as an example and have uploaded it to YouTube.

So I'm going to be that pain in the ass to bring it up and ask as I still find it a bit confusing as I can't recall seeing an absolute confirmation, the similar sound to her with a voice for a specific character in it and that with this game Barry Gjerde (Barry) and Lynn Harris (Rebecca) are also providing their vocal talents to the point that it's ridiculous as to how obvious their roles are.

Well, I find it more confusing as I've seen it said to be multiple people so I can't remember if any of them were completely confirmed or what.

But yeah, that's the thought I had as soon as I heard the audio around the start of the game and later on the tone is still fairly similar.

Of course, seemed weird considering Barry and Lynn are doing their Barry, Rebecca voices for one of the characters they're both doing out of the two characters' they've voicing each.

Well, her name is Lisle Wilkerson.

She grew up in Japan and I know she would have been there at the time of the game's development as she's done DJ, radio or television work considering she's still fluent in Japanese.

I can't answer your first post, but I will say that I think that that voice clip REALLY sounds alot like the woman who voiced Jill in RE1.

No worries Gene, more or less - just saying I'm confused as to whether or not a VA was confirmed and most ones that I've seen suggested don't really match up to it and it's just made me wonder considering that audio for her character called Emi in the game.

She voices another character called Emmy, who speaks in a similar way but you could to my ears it sounds like a cross between the tone of "Wesker?! Just AS I THOUGHT!" and Tekken 4 & Tekken 5 Nina Williams (which she provided the voice for after replacing Lynn Harris who only voiced Nina from Tekken/Tekken 2/Tekken 2/Tekken - Tag Tournament).

But I'm glad to see I'm not just imagining that it sounds far too like RE1 Jill (to the point that I'm somewhat feeling a little weird when playing Glass Rose to essentially be hearing Jill, Barry and Rebecca in a room! ).

Indeed, anyway I dug up the RE1 audio I ripped a long time ago and popped together some of the Glass Rose cutscenes for comparison between the VAs' voices in Glass Rose and RE1.

Sorry, I didn't feel like going and looking for the cutscenes I captured from RE1 to mix in and got lazy on the editing for just a simple audio comparison.

I was under the impression that Sergio was only the physical of Wesker, the opening's audio actually sounds like it was dubbed over the top later on as I don't recall it being confirmed that he did voice Wesker.

Though, the RE1 VAs do actually have range (for example, Lynn provided the voice for Nina Williams from Tekken to Tekken Tag Tournament which then followed in 4, 5 with Lisle Wilkerson replacing her as Nina's VA - it can be tricky to tell it's her, but I only recognize her from a couple of sounds in the games, the same goes for Barry playing Master Mew in Musashiden II: Blade Master/Musashi: Samurai Legend) so he may have, but I don't recall Wesker's VA being completely confirmed aside from Sergio being identified finally as physically playing Wesker.

I just find it strange that these VAs that I know have a range are more or less using mostly the same sort of voices as they have previously done-so for the company in the past with only a slight change for the other characters' they voice.

Just playing through Glass Rose and I feel like I'm going crazy with the known RE1 VAs and then possibly Jill's, but I swear in the background of some of the pre-rendered cutscenes I'm hearing music of a similar strain to Biohazard (if not reused music) as all of the background music in-game is fairly repetitive with only slight changes depending on what's happening in the scene oddly enough.

[Edit] Oh, and the guy that voiced Andy in Survivor is also voicing a character in this one.

I always thought the narrator of re2 sounded similar to Wesker, I'm sure it's meant to be Leon though his tone matches Paul Haddad in places.

I always thought it was Leon recapping the events as I've always heard it as Paul Haddad, like the gameplay itself is that we see the events he's just witnessed and that he was discussing it like in the meeting we see in the endings of 3.

Since he has a more serious tone there and that it's somewhat followed on with the final voice that Paul Mercier had for Leon in 4 since the early footage had Leon use a higher pitch.

Though, I am keeping an ear out to see if I can hear any VAs that sound similar to Wesker in some of these games I'm picking up as they seem to usually be together in a small group oddly.
