Actually I talk to c2keo. He hasn't heard anything either from him. There were some issues between them right before Dominion disappeared. He said that Dominion was trying to keep too much too secret from his own team that was supposed to be helping him and he was getting frustrated because there was no direction. c2keo couldn't make any solid set of backgrounds because Dominion wouldn't/couldn't give him any direction on what he needed. Either Dominion didn't have Dark Biohazard as well thought out and planned as it seemed, or he was keeping too much info from his team members. I know Darkmoon didn't even get much info either, but I think he also started right before he disappeared.

Now none of his team has heard from him, but he's apparently still around. We aren't sure if he's blocked us on msn, if he's always Invisible, or signing on when nobody sees him. But if he's still working on it, he's either doing it completely alone again or he's got a new secret team.

To add a question to the end of Prime Blue's post...how many of these kind of projects actually ever come to fruition? Seems every year you'll hear of user-made mods being announced to mass fanaticism only to see them disappear from view.

It sounds very unlikely from what's been said in this thread, but i suppose there's always the odd hope that it might be a Black Mesa style project where big updates get through every so often.

      Massively doubtful though.

Personally i could take it or leave it. The whole babies thing in the last trailer (i think it was the last anyway) pushed the boundaries of taste a little too much i thought, particularly for a Resident Evil title.

How could that possibly work? Wouldn't that involv treading into even murkier copyright law-infested waters than the mod would have already?

But we already have RE2. I doubt/hope Dominion would not be pretentious enough to do such a thing

I've always been fond of the idea of children zombies. All humans can and would be zombies, even children. Children exist, that's a fact. I'm not the moral police, so I wouldn't call it tasteless. And anyway, if its pretentious for Dominion to call his project Biohazard 2, then its pretentious to point out that Resident Evil 1.5 was originally meant to be Biohazard 2, and could serve as a replacement for the released and commercial Biohazard 2 if it (resident evil 1.5) is ever released. But so what if it was pretentious. It'd be like, oh well, a guy wants to create an alternative sequel to his beloved universe.

To me that makes no sense, since Capcom weren't "Attempting to impress by affecting greater importance, talent, culture, etc., than is actually possessed".

One thing we know is that Dominion disliked RE2, see the mod history videos, so why would he want to call it Biohazard 2? Then we get even further into the murky depths of law as Capcom hold the Copywrites and Trademarks to Resident Evil 2/Biohazard 2.

Then again one could argue that it's Dominion's mod so he can call it whatever he feels.

Anyway back on topic, he hasn't been communicative for a very long time. Either its just what usually happens and he disappears off the radar for a bit or something drastic might have changed in his life that requires his undivided attention.

Remember, he at least updated his lease on "DarkBiohazard.com" for another year so it can't be completely dead. Else he'd have just let the lease run out.

Essentially everything Stu says should be translated and interpreted and summed up as: "Herp Derp" or "Hurrrrrrr I'm a Durrrrrrrr!"

Let's not insult each other please. This is awkward on a PS3.

That much is obvious, many a mod I have followed over the years dwindled to nothing, but even so there are a few that make it to completeness.

To flat-out say though that the mod will never be finished and released...

I suppose being a 1.5 hopeful makes me really hate negativity of this kind.

I'm pretty confident it will be released, he's simply put too much time and effort into this mod to just throw it all away. Even if he has blocked everyone and hired a new team, boarded himself up inside an attic somewhere,etc...you really can't blame him, I mean anyone who's worked on a project of this magnitude for long periods of time can literally go insane. It might be twenty years from now, but deep within my heart, I believe it will eventually come to light and all will rejoice.

                      That's my take anyway.

How ironic would it be if this project got canned roughly 60% into completion and people
pester dominion for the next x amount of years begging him to release what he has...

Would admittedly start to look as though 2 is a little bit cursed but... I think that even if that were to happen and/or does happen with Dominion (that or at the moment he's changed his mind on what sort of modification he's doing for 2 again...), that Martin (Dark Biohazard) or Enrico might pick things up in terms of 2 and/or 1.5 recreation considering what they're already able to do over on the RE1/2/3 Modification Forums.

Of course, it could happen or it all ends up being released. Even if it isn't released, I'm going to remain positive that seeing as the community has picked up in terms of the older ones (hell, even RE4/5 PC Modding now has a spot for the classics and are getting into pulling them to bits after pulling 4 & 5 apart) so with that in mind and that same people are spread across the modding community for Biohazard/Resident Evil I'm sure that there's going to be a lot more interest and effort put into the classics now that I've seen the boom in general activity and interest across them all these past few years I've been active in them.

Though it would be great if Dominion would show up sometime with some sort of update on a general yes/no status on it...

Anyway, just my point of view on it.

I kinda gave up waiting for this to be released in 2002 already. Nothing has changed much since then. It would be a good surprise to see it released thought...

...well, I must admit, I'm impressed you were expecting it several years before it was announced...

I think you're thinking of some of Dominion's older projects, such as Last Human Front, which got cancelled due to technical limitations.
