  • Funny Resident Evil Fansite Google Translating.

I was browsing through Resident Evil City (a German Resident Evil fansite) with Google Translate (I know it's not a reliable device, but I just tend to make do with what I got so ... yeah).

And I happen to have discovered several of unintentionally funny paragraphs of text: -

As Jill again had control over herself, she told the two to infect the entire human race from Wesker's plan with the Uroboros.
In the battle Wesker / Jill vs. Chris / Sheva, Wesker revealed the "Bird Lady" and Chris was under the mask his dead partner ... said Jill.
According to Irons, the evidence was too small.
Albert Wesker was one of 13 children chosen for Ozwell E. Spencer's plan, creation of a new human race, which should be faster, stronger and smarter.
Albert began to wear sunglasses to his feelings and his face to hide.
Since Wesker now "dead" had he had to face surgery, which is why he formed a partnership with Ada Wong a spy in "The Organization".
A spy told the Wesker Alexia was awake again.
In 2001, Wesker his attention to South Africa, he met through the sale of the T-Veronica the powerful drug lord Javier Hidalgo.
Ashley and use later as a Trojan horse in the U.S. government.
Wesker has invested much money and took advantage of many relationships to find out where Spencer was staying.
Chris was the "USFA (United States Air Force) and got to know Barry Butron.
He is there on many records and cleared a lot of praise.
Together with Barry, Rebecca and Jill, they came to the mystery of the house, the T-Virus on the ropes.
Three years have passed since Jill started to fall into the depths and Chris, in itself to doubt "his campaign has any sense?"
I know there is more, but I might post them later.

Really don't see how many of these are funny...or what the point is at all. Online translators are never 100% accurate, and nuances of other languages are highly different from English. Why don't we start laughing at the Japanese for spelling Jill "Gill" or Ashley "Asyu" or Sherry "Shelly", etc.

    Are you tired, Rebecca?

Well... the reason why I thought it was funny because of the grammar.

Allow me to point out how hilarious your post is, seeing as how you misspelled grammar.

I'd thought I'd spelt it wrong! Thanks for pointing it out Rosetta Mist. I'll fix it up now.

I got a good chuckle out of some of those.

Although it doesn't beat engrish on old japanese arcade cabinets.

Different strokes for different folks. I, for example, find the idea of a place where the princible form of entertainment is juggling geese. Seriously, baby geese. Goslings. They juggle them!

Other people may find this less hilarious.

                  I know that's from a movie, I just can't remember.

I think it's Firefly, I'm pretty sure. Wash says it

Yes, it's from the series. And kudos for knowing it. Unlike that heathen Enrico, who hasn't watched it yet. One day I will hunt him down, chain him to a chair, staple open his eyes and whip out the boxset. Oh yes.

Google Translator (and babelfish) are the scum of the earth (in several ways). I dunno how many times completely wrong information has been spread around as fact, thanks to some twat taking the horrible garbage they sometimes outputs as gospel.

I still see that kind of stuff even today. Fortunately, the English community isn't that plagued by it, but several regional portions of the fanbase still are. Sadly enough.

(For the record, I speak "babelfish" - as in; my bullshit detector knows how to properly interpret some of said nonsense)

I was thinking the exact same thing when I first read it.
