  • Resident Evil 0 "Easy" difficulty ending

According to: http://uk.cube.ign.com/articles/376/376922p2.html if you play on easy "you won't get the full ending benefits".

What does this mean? What is exactly absent from the RE0 ending when playing on easy?

    Thanks.

Well off the top of my head, you won't get the closet key in Rebecca's inventory when your restart the game(which allows you to unlock new costumes). Not much to do with the "ending", but more of the replay value.

LOL To be honest I haven't beaten it on 'easy' so I'm not 100% sure.

However, I think the ending is the same considering you get the same ending beating it on normal or hard.

I believe they are talking about the stuff that you can only unlock when you beat the game on harder difficulty modes. But most of it you unlock with the Leech Hunter mini-game.

Exactly right. You can get the Leech hunter mode on completion of any difficulty, but you can only get the closet key if you beat the game on normal or hard. That's really the only thing I can think of.

That's stupid. If that's all you miss out on, then you're not missing out at all really.

I really miss Leech hunter mode....

I think I'm going to boot my Wii up right now. xD

It's one of the extra modes I think I have played
through in any Resident Evil game...More than
                "Mercenaries"? The answer is "YES!".

I have played it, literary, more than 800 times back
                in the GC!

I still think its important to point out that RE0 was a 2 hour playable demo and not a finished game.

Where's the logic behind such a statement?

I think it's more important to point out that you can play RE Zero for more than 2 hours.

And this game, despite it's flaws is a lot more polished than most 'finished' games out there.

Like the ones that force you to buy DLC to see the the real story/plotline or play the game like it should've played like, from day one.

I beat RE0 the day I bought it in 2 hrs and 10 minutes. On regular mode, without dying, and I wasnt rushing either. I was playing it at a normal pace and then suddenly BAM! It was finished.

I was expecting the game to be a good 4 hours or so like the REmake was on the first play through but this was a 2 disc GC game that was only about an hour or so on each disc.

I was furious that I spend $30 on a game that didn't feel finished, didn't have any replay value(Leech hunter was fun and all....but its so damn short) and unfortunately also had a lot of retcon.

But I was really pissed off at the games length being criminally short. You know something is wrong when the original PSX RE game is longer than a sequel made 9 years later on a next gen console.

Even with a guide that time is nearly impossible for a first playthrough. Zero is a rather long game with lots of backtracking, I did a playtrough very recently and it took me a good 5-6 hours.

                            This.

I mean seriously, ppl that have done SPEEDRUNS of RE0 and that skip all the cutscenes and that know exactly what to do in the game, have a hard time beating the game in less than 1:44:45.

So it's ridiculas to think that on a first run (without the help of a guide or cheat device) that one would beat Zero in 2 hours.

I mean why would anyone play like that on a first freakin run anyway? Without even watching the FMV's or stopping to read the TEXT FILES.

                              Not really:

                              A: I read fast(for the text files)
B: I had been playing RE for about 10 years and know the battle system quite well.
C: The AI partner knew how to take out zombies faster than me(it had a very interesting zombie head shot trick I noticed).
D: The bosses were all easy(the scorpion was a little rough, but the bat, centipede and proto-tryant were easy ) I actually found the leech men harder to deal with, esp with out mollies.
E: The game was so linear its hard to not see the 'go this way' arrows in the screen.

And again, I beat it in like 2hrs 15 min. I wasn't rushing, I was playing eagerly yes, I had been curious about Bravo teams accident for almost a decade, but I was just running through everything at full speed.

The reason the game ended up being as easy as it was...was the AI partner. Magic head shots on zombies, crows, never missing a shot on a boss, taking out the majority of threats in mid attack.

The game was short enough as it was, but with the AI partner there taking out everything left and right while you fumble with one enemy definitely carved out a good 20 minutes of battle time by the time you finished the game.
