Though it was fun enough, CAPCOM really started to lose me with RE4. Too many things were too drastically different, but I decided to stick with them and see how things went. Initially, I was pretty excited about RE5 because I foolishly thought we might get some of the 'survival horror' stuff back, but it was even more of a generic action game than the last. And on top of that, it was about ten times as easy.
I've followed the series since 1996, so I doubt I'll ever abandon it, but I also doubt I'll ever be into them like I was the first handful. It just doesn't really feel like RE to me anymore and I feel that probably won't change with future installments. Most of the things I loved most about the series were taken out long ago...
