remember that debate about the pink herb striped from RE0's beta? if it was meant as a healing item than I think I have an Idea
in outbreak pink was the color of bleeding status. And some enemies including the special leech covered zombie spammed this status effect
think about it...
its possible they may have been experimenting with bleed status mechanics in RE0's development, and the Humanoid Leech & other monsters may have inflicted it.
thats my theory at least, that speed crippling bleed status was an interesting 2nd status problem exclusive to outbreak. It would fit pretty well with the game's leech theme, but adding a fourth herb would probably screw up the mix chart.
In outbreak however, bleed status was cured by hemostat, one of the pills you could make with the medkit. The first aid spray could also cure it, plus it wares off after a minute or so. Outbreak introduced me to this series and I kept wondering why poison was the only status problem the main series had.
Bleed status in resident evil is a lot like getting paralyzed in pokemon. it slows you to a limping crawl regardless of remaining health, and in outbreak another player could carry you to safety. (picture billy carrying Rebecca or vice versa)
I also wish zero had a co-op... the dual player mechanics just tease you with it. Now after playing RE5 its impossible to look at zero without viewing it from that angle.
