And what the hell you talking about upalalapapl? You have a PSP with custom firmware and you're playing RE Beta on it...smh

Anyways, I'm sure all RE fans started playing this game when they were young I started at 7 lolol.

i torrent full albums to hear what they sound like before i buy them. many artists provide streaming to their catalogs anyways, so the only difference is is that i don't have to constantly use bandwith to play a song i like, when i can just download it and have it stored for later listening. and if the album sucks, then at least i took the time to listen to it, if it was only 30 seconds song. i ain't payin' for shit anymore that sounds horrible, not at the prices of what CDs are. i like physical media more than digital any day as it is. and because there's places like Neflix and Hulu, bootlegging is kind of pointless, unless there's a piece of a media that's extremely hard to come by, illegal or even near universally banned.

The age thing is relative. I started playing RE1 when I was around 13 years.
Relative as in me playing Resident Evil before it was out? haha good one

I think most of us (aside from a few) played RE before we were legally "allowed" to. I played my first RE game (code veronica) when I was around 12. That's probably why I'm so fucked up now. Would I go back and change it? Hell no!

Besides, introducing your 10 year old sister to RE1 with those kinds of graphics won't effect her. She'll probably just laugh at the pixelated moving squares and rectangles. No harm in it. Now if you introduced her to dead space that'd be a different story.

Lol at the ancient R4DS, you should get a Supercard DSTWO or CycloDS EVOLUTION!!
Joking of curse ;) Hell I don't support piracy at all man.

Also it's great to get your sister into such a game at her age. Well wait I have been playing RE since I was 10 years old

But yeah I think she's a bit too young for that

whenever i have kids and i introduce them to gaming, i'm very much sure that i'm going to start them where i at least started gaming, with the NES and even take them to arcades.then when i find the time is right, i'll bring them forth into the newer gen games, until they're at the place where i am (that is if gaming doesn't suck in the future). my kids are gonna know the feeling of pixelated characters second hand.

That's pretty much how my mother and father raised me. They introduced me to the atari when I was like 6, then moved onto the sega saturn. Then when i was 8 or 9 my mother and I would play house of the dead all the time at arcades. Then I was on my own when it came to games and that's when I discovered RE and Silent hill. I think I turned out just fine other than having a very dark/sick sense of humor.

To clarify - Chris' Boob, you get a single warning for talking about using an illegal method to play a retail game and then we ban you. This is because Dot can get into trouble with Capcom for this stuff. Please be advised in the future not to post any, or you'll have a month long holiday.

And yes, people are talking and posting about beta stuff. They're an exception to the rule because Capcom was never going to sell beta stuff.

I'm pretty much of the opinion that 10 is too young for a Resident Evil game. I was 13 and terrified when I played it. And I was the kinda 13 year old my parents were happy to leave alone for a weekend. But everyone is different.

I watched my brothers play Resident Evil back when I was 4 up until I was like, 12.
                  I never touched the games till I was about 5 - 7?.
Obsessed by 10, I am now an avid fan... but yeah...
I don't have a problem with it, unless the child is really scared and you force it upon them.

I first played RE when I was eight and I loved it although it scared me then it's all part of the desensitization process lmao

I actually started playing Resident Evil when it first came out. Which would put me at around.. 6 or 7. It hasn't affected me. As a matter of fact, I think if I hadn't played it that early, I think I would have missed out on some great memories with my Mum.

You need to have the required intellectual level in order to be scared by the game, anyway. If you are too young, it does not matter if you play the game or not.

I pretty much agree with Stu. Even though I discoverd RE at about the same age (11 years old), that game intrigued me a lot but also freaked me out and gave me nightmares for some times. Not afraid of anything now, but the sensibility of young people is something you must take seriously.

                            haha that's genius.

You can be ANY age and be scared of ANYTHING as long as it's graphic enough.

                              That's true...
Speaking of graphic violence, did anyone mention that the FMV of the 1st zombie encounter is uncensored in the DS version?
You can see that severed head fall down into a pool of blood, it freaked me out when I played the DS remake and saw this the first time.

I sure as hell am not letting my kids see Resident Evil for a good, long time.
