Nah, this is using the movies. But it's not as though the game's likely to matter - it's a third party game, and Capcom generally ignores everything but the royalty check from those.

I mean, the whole point of this game is to change the canon. Why would a relatively minor aspect such as the way Nemesis sees the world matter?

Because that's not the only problem? There's still the fact that they are using fake information.

If they weren't so ambiguous as to what is canon and what isn't, and bothered revealing who the writers are (for both the game and Inserted Evil campaign), I imagine there would be much less outrage. But rather than saying "nah, not canon, don't worry", they're walking a fine line and being contradictory about it and saying it is, isn't, and both.

I gave up on it a while back. No new plot (that'll actually impact on the canon, be canon, or be important enough to give a shit about), gameplay I can't stand...unless Alzaire or someone manages to bully me into buying it so I can play with them I'll get this somewhere down the line, second hand. When I can be bothered and don't have a ton of better games to get.

Left 4 Dead and Killing Floor are amazing, what made you give up on this one so soon?

I don't like squad based shooters. I barely managed to waddle my way through Left 4 Dead because it had local co-op, so I could play with my wife. Never touched Killng Floor, no interest in it.

I wouldn't even be considering getting this if it didn't have Resident Evil in the title.

That's pretty much how I feel, too. If the single-player (which is how RE to me should be played) campaign is really short, I'll wait a year or so until it goes down in price.

The singeplayer campagin is the same as the co-op mode, though.

Slant Six and Capcom said they have more traditional modes in the game yet to unveil too... hopefully those are singleplayer.

Maybe they'll have a remake of the 4th Survivor, but this time it will not be a mini game but and actual campaign. It doesn't have to be long. Maybe go tot he labs, go through the sewer, then to the R.P.D. and evac with the chopper. Maybe even have a video explaining what happened to Hunk after the RE2.
