  • The head-honcho of the ORC defense force (Slant Six) also has no fucking idea why the game is getting so many bad reviews:

Yep. The guys are on Twitter defending their handiwork instead of working on those PATCHES.... Gah! wait, they already moved on to work on another project, Strata Scavenger. Oh well...

    • I played survivors mode for 2 minutes and was so annoyed, that I immediately got back to single player. First I started the game on Veteran and didn't know how to run, so the the G-Birkin asshole kept killing me. I restarted the entire mission on normal , which was way easier, but not everything works. I was clearly aiming at an enemy, but instead of hitting him, I was hitting a crate below him. I find it very annoying that no one ever joins my game. I would like to join others at least, but it doesnt really seem a way to chose the level. I haven't had that many issues so far, but the issues that were present, were very annoying.

      • Campaign is lame, doubt I play this more than is needed to unlock stuff. Enjoying Versus modes a lot though, Nemesis mode is actually quite fun though are plenty of dumbasses who seem to think attacking Nemesis is the objective.

          • You don't honestly think they're going to admit to making a bad game, do you?

                • I certainly don't.

This was their oppertunity to show the gaming industry that they could be major players within it. Capcom have poured a significant amount of money into this project I'd imagine, and they haven't succeeded. They didn't even have to create a license, all the hard work was done and yet they still failed to deliver on something that should of been an absolute breeze.

I feel sad for what they did with the material they had to work with. Almost any other dev would've done better.

Heck, even Cavia's efforts don't look so shabby in comparison. At least the RE2/Outbreak areas looked familiar.

                    • Finished Single Player last night and it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be after reading so many reviews and such. Will defiantly play through again with a friend tonight!

Thought some bits were pointless and annoying, but in whole it was actually pretty fun. Haven't tried out Hereros or Nemesis mode yet though.

                      • I'm watching a walkthrough and I'm preeeetty sure I wanna puke. They tried a "TPS super-action omg zombies kill them all" approach. Alright, as Smiley said, it's a spin-off. Whatever.

But if you're gonna make a TPS super-action game, make it a functional TPS super-action game. The glitches I'm seeing are plentiful, the AI is worse then L4D1 from the looks of things, I mean... seriously? Did they even care?

And yes, Smiley, before you jump on me, I do get that it's a spin-off. But just because it's an action spin-off game doesn't make it a good game. This is a shoddy, piss-poor job on S6's part. (Just like Confrontation! )

                        • Ya know...if they released a free patch that fixed most of the shit and maybe threw in a new BOW or two, they could get some credit for trying at the very least.

Even if my memory is utterly failing me and it's actually double that number, that's not exactly a vast section of Raccoon City.

It shouldn't be impossible, or even that difficult, to keep the city plan and simply use the RE2 and RE3 street sections as relatively low level conflict areas, if they're really that poor for run and gun gaming. Maybe move some wrecked vehicles out of the way to open up certain sections. And then the rest of the city can be more extensively run and gun, since much of it hasn't been locked in stone. The actual buildings might be more problematic, but honestly I don't even know which buildings you go into.

Frankly, this smacks more of Slant Six's 'Cannot be arsed to do the research, it's not on the wiki' situation than they absolutely had to change the street plan for gameplay reasons. There just weren't enough streets in the actual games for it to be that huge of a problem.
                            I couldn't agree more.
                            Mass production? Ridiculous!

                            • It doesn't matter if it's a spinoff, a main title, whether it was developed by a Western team or a Japanese team, or if it was in development for years or a matter of months.

It's still a bad game. Just because it's a spin off title developed by a third rate Western development team in a short time frame doesn't make it any less so.

Whoa there partner, there are still 3rd rate western development teams out there still trying. Don't lump them with Slant Six.
