So because Capcom was lazy with their canon it's excusable for Umbrella Chronicles to pick pieces of canon from it. Just laying that out there for the absurdity.
I mentioned Jill's age and the number of issues with UC only to prove a point. Capcom makes mistakes. Glaring mistakes. Whether they're important to you or not is pretty irrelevant. They can botch up dates, ages and events. So it's clear that if you're going to be dismissive about ORC you might want to take a step back and look at your canon again. It has flaws. You can admit to them and you can dismiss them over trivial things like laziness or being official games. But they still exist, and every fan knows you're better off playing the original games to get the real solid experience of what happened. (Actually I can't say the same for RE1 because again that game has no canon ending to it )
Frankly I don't care who considers it canon or uncanon. This is a game pinning you in the role of Umbrella villains in arguably one of the best scenarios of the timeline. It has the same goals as the other spin offs. New way to play RE to attract new fans and have a new experience for the older ones. But unlike UC where they re-tell a story and botch it up you have a game that re-tells a story and encourages you to go wild and make your stamp on it. I mean you're U.S.S. operatives taking on the baddest of the bad in monsters and also going against those meddling kids. Are you going to play this as delicately as you can to not mess up the timeline or are you going to be doing some hardcore villain shit? I already know what I have in store.
