  • I think you guys should cut this game some slack . its not ment to be a fullblown all new single player resident evil game its a spinoff
for online gaming so the buildings looks abit diffrend a door here a door there it dosent really matter its all about having some fun its not a important resident evil title the whole game is about stuff you couldent do in the older resi games ( re 2 3)
so honestly i think you guys should just kick back and relax have fun with it.

if you like it great ! if not why waist your time with it ?

    • Same argument that people use as to why I shouldn't make farting noises at the movies, oddly enough. And my view is; If it has Resident Evil in the title, I'm gonna look at it, and then I'm gonna tell folks why it sucks. Or, on occasion, what I like about it.

This one just sucks worse than most.

        • Again, same arguments people use for the movie. 'It's just a spinoff, it's not meant to be over thought, if you just relax and enjoy it it'll be fine...'

Simple fact is, I think the game looks crap. I don't especially like online games, I don't like run and gun action games, and a good spinoff adds to the whole series, it doesn't take away from it. The quality is poor, the people involved did not do the research to make the game even semi-fit into the year, let alone the game canon, and I don't really see why I shouldn't voice that opinion. Feel free to tell me why you think it looks awesome; don't tell me to stop telling you why I think it doesn't.

            • Good for you. I disagree. I loved Outbreak - this is nothing like Outbreak, bar it has Resident Evil in the title and can be played online. By that logic, RE5 was like Outbreak too. Minus Raccoon City, of course...not that this is really Raccoon City.

And no, I'm not finding a new series. There's still things I'm interested in. Revelations looks cool, even though I won't play it. RE6 looks...like it has some potential, but too much action for now. Especially in Leon's portion, which is apparently where the horror elements are meant to be. Sliiiide. Sorry, but THIA isn't for the latest title in the series. It's for the whole series, including the bits I enjoy.

I never said it was like outbreak all i said was .. its in raccoon city i like that.. i enjoy the online i love to play coop
i enjoyed it in resident evil 5/Outbreak im gonna enjoy it here too.
and yes its true resident evil will never be the same again capcom .. knows there is more money in it
( calling out to the call of duty online players) so this is the future of resident evil when you look at this game and resident evil 6 you can feel a connetion there in gameplay the action the cover system.
This is how resident evil is now.

                • For now. Doesn't mean it always will be. Doesn't even mean RE6 will be; it's a first trailer. Not that I expect Capcom to change it. This will sell, and one of there executives outright stated they want Call of Duty and Battlefield players. But things change, and until then, the story at least looks interesting.

                  I'll skip ORC though.

I'm thinking of something. If there is a spec ops campaign, then I suggest that this will be the "canon" route.

Let me explain : You have the USS campaign where you are forced to kill Leon, Jill, Nicholai, etc....and then the Spec ops campaign where you have to protect the key characters from the USS.

And then, it makes perfect sense when they said you could choose between canon and non-canon. Because I don't think there are alternatives routes when playing the USS, in fact. What do you think of it?

"SPEC OPS" still contradict the living fuck out of everything. The SPEC OPS campaign would only be "canon" in that none of the key characters die. None of it will actually be relevant to the actual series storyline.

I don't know. If the "spec ops" are part of a secret mission of the government that we are not aware of, it could work, maybe.

Guess we'll have to wait to know for sure.

                          Nope.

While I personally wouldn't mind an RE class reunion in downtown Raccoon City, with REORC we're bringing you the story of the USS Wolfpack that expands on the RE2-RE3 scenario. While it isn't necessary hard-line canon, it still exists within the general guidelines of RE2-RE3 which includes plotlines, characters, etc. Those we didn't want to alter, because the titles/storylines are iconic in their own right and give us an excellent backdrop to weave a new 'what-if' scenario with the USS crew
(in response to me saying that it is just the same as Gaiden and the Wildstorm/Marvel comics)

It is just a what-if. Absolutely zero impact on the series canon.

                          • Hmm, I don't think it's that easy to label it as "non-canon, end of story". There will probably be issues, I agree with you on that, but some things might actually be relevant within the canon. I'm sure there will be moments in the game where we'll all be like "aw shit, too bad this game isn't canon, because that element is cool and should be added"

It is that easy, though. Just the same as how it is easy as fuck to say that Gaiden, Fire and Ice and BIO HAZARD THE BEGINNING are not canon. There are elements in Prelude to the Fall I would really like to be canon. But they're not. So... that's it.
