"I wear generic black rimmed glasses which makes me a cool nerd", get the fuck outta here with this bias and pointless review. Ava Wong? Vladimer? They cannot even say the names of the people right and this is supposed to be taken with any merit? Pssshhh. Thinking of canceling my pre-order. This just keeps getting worse and worse.

More than anything - why are various members of the community trying so hard to support this game? A title like Survivor - we all signed off as being fairly terrible and a bad idea from the moment we saw that first scan in a magazine, but at least it had story connections - you appreciated on a story basis.
But there's nothing remotely good about this game, it doesn't fit canon wise, it doesn't play any better than it's far superiour peers, it's just a mindless cash in. It's appauling.http://www.projectumbrella.net The BIOHAZARD/RESIDENT EVIL Compendium

Which various members are you referring to?
A game like Survivor can take an hour to beat. And its "story" isn't exactly something to write home about. Capcom can briefly tag it as canon, but the story has no bearing on the main series.

I find it pretty hilarious that the couple of people here who actually like the game feel the need to defend it against every negative post. The game is going to be shit. With or without the Resident Evil name attached to it.
With that said, Capcom have a very interesting pre-order bonus for the game on their official webstore. Almost interesting enough to get me to buy the game (if only to sell the unopened copy to Walmart for my $60 back). That is so Money.

There's a bit of finger pointing without singling anyone in particular out.
Whether the game is good or bad remains to be seen. Posts like "This game is going to be shit" without any actual game time imply a much larger self-entitled bias no greater than the review made by those hipsters, and they apparently played the game at least.

Well I am looking forward it, if I had to try and make a list of reasons
- I enjoy co-op games
- I enjoy TPS games
- I like the characters, especially since very few series put women in starring roles these days or include them as playable at all, ORC got a nice 6/6 split.
- I enjoyed RE5 Versus with the majini interfering and the ORC MP looks like a massive extension of it.
- Story and what you can do with it is really interesting
- All the above set in the universe of RE.
BTW, Survivor was great fun if you used a G-Con, though I guess that rules out every American.

And why don't I cancel my pre-order? Because I am hoping that my instincts are proven wrong. When I typed that out, I am considering it at the moment as I had not made a decision in that regard. I still have not. But every new video, every new review, every bit of information that is being released is pushing me in the wrong direction of wanting to like it.
I already accepted that the game story is a load of crap. I was at least hoping that the gameplay would make up for the story but that does not seem to be happening. If I cancel my pre-order, I will let you know, as you're our new PR for ORC on the forum.

I am saying that because if you watch that review you can see they have no idea what they are talking about. "Set ten years after the incident in Raccoon City," apparently the girl got it mixed up with what she read about RE6. Ava Wong and Vladimier?I was not aware Sergei and Ada's sister was in the game but okay.

And I'm going to level with you. Every instinct you have about the game will likely not change unless all the promotional material shown thus far has been misleading in any way. It's mindless multiplayer action shlock set in a biohazard scenario. If it doesn't feel like a traditional RE game that's because it isn't. Nor has it even set out to be that way.
So if you're going to cancel your preorder you might as well if that's not the type of game you want to play. I encourage anyone to do so if they really think the game play does not meet their standards based on what they've seen so far.
If there's a minority of "supporters" here I can only imagine it's the group of players who are only interested in taking the game at face value and not expecting much more than that. I can't tell you if the game is crap or awesome simply because I haven't played any of it yet. I can tell you I'm intrigued by the concept, and willing to play with any RE fans willing to give the game a try. The story is all over the place anyway so a spinoff set in Raccoon City doesn't faze me. The action isn't going away anytime soon for the series so if this game relishes in it then so be it as long as the controls are a step up from RE5. So I have no problems tinkering with the notion on if I need to cancel my preorder or not. I know what I'm getting into. Question remains whether it's fun or not in the long run.

As for the game itself, when and if I want to cancel my pre-order I shall. I am simply voicing my opinion on this game and what I seen so far and how it makes me feel. If that upsets you, you can PM me and we can discuss this like gentlemen further instead of forcing the rest of the community to sit back and watch a debate that will end up just enforcing our views on the subject.

Yes because a five year old is accessing this forum. I'll just leave it up to you trolling that you're mad because someone else has an opinion which does not match the PR Slant Six Representatives own and from my entire post which included my feelings on ORC from what I seen so far, you chose to focus on my side comment, about the way they look which was an additional comment to include with my main reason.
EDIT: Actually, I'll address your second half of your previous comment from earlier.
I said I was THINKING of canceling my preorder. The reason did not have to do with the type of game I am looking to play but the fact that it seems to be full of errors in both campaign and co-op mode. From what I am hearing and reading it does not look good. I am being biased because I do like RE but it's hard to be ignorant when it comes from different sources that say it is full of bugs. I am very well aware it is a action game. Again, I am aware of that.
I said it before that I was not intrigued by the story but the city and how it'll come to life in the finished product. Thinking of canceling my preorder and voicing my opinion, if you feel it's at face value, so be it. A lot of times these face value determinations tend to be right. At least when it's my own. I understand you have high hopes for the game. I wouldn't pre-order the game if I didn't want it to do good.Last edited by Reston; 02-12-2012, 05:33 AM.

Only one who's acting like a five year old and trolling is you Reston, hows about we stick on the topic at hand?
Slant six doesnt have the best track record, folks on the forum want to try out the game for themselves despite all the negativity and thats perfectly fine.
The retcon and weird stuff in the game seems to be meant for the newer audience rather than the original audience and that's causing a lot of eyebrows to be raised, but in the end all we can do right now is speculate and nit pick from others impressions.
Lets wait more for the end result before we bitch the game out too much....course with the way things are going we might save time bitching it out now, still I'm kind of hoping that shit gets fixed and something good is released so the series as a whole doesnt suffer any more.
