  • Alright, ladies and gents. I'm getting a lot of complaints from this thread now, and it's starting to tick me off. I suggest people agree to disagree before I take a look and decide on exactly how many points they deserve for needling and trolling each other.

    • If I was attacking or trolling people for having a different opinion then I'd get nowhere fast. Your situation was interesting, and let it be known that I've only gone by the statements you've made which is what I've quoted and addressed. I still don't understand why you wish to preorder a game you evidently hate over little interest as the outlook of the city which even some users here have argued looks bad from the promotional material. I've suggested you cancel your preorder to save yourself the wasted money and wasted grief. That's something not even GuardhouseMusic can give you back. Darkmoon says we should agree to disagree. So with that I'll say that I don't understand why you will invest in something you're not happy about from the pieces you've read that you choose to believe, but I'll respect your right to do so as awkward as it may be.

      • I think most of the problems that IGN reviewer complained about can be addressed via patching. Top Tier TPS/FPS MP games do it all the time.

A demo would have been nice. Or better yet, a Beta. That could have sorted a lot of these issues.

I've played worse games. Alone In The Dark for Wii as an example. That game is broken beyond human understanding. LOL.

        • The real issue with that IGN article, and the singleplayer one before it, is they're just god damn awful pieces of writing (I'm not going to call it journalism, that would be grossly incorrect). It's one thing to be negative but there is no real critical comment to be found - it's just, like a lot of IGN articles, bitching about what isn't in there or working rather than talking about what the game does and then critically responding to it's flaws.

As I mentioned over at Biohaze, 1up - while owned by IGN now, did a single player article by one of it's editors on the same day as the first IGN article, that actually took a critical and positive look at what issues there was and what little could be done to fix them. A far better article that while still not entirely positive about the game, gives different impressions overall however that there is a late in the final quarter chance to correct some of these things and not just wiping their ass on it to pull visitors to their site to see what controversal statements they could make.

          • Yes, and the little things like how it doesn't feel like a Resident Evil game still escape me. You'd think that for what the game is trying to accomplish that it's not exactly going to play like RE2 and RE3 exactly.

For any collector interested I'll repost this from Lone Wolf's comment over at Biohaze.

NECA to release ORC figures later this year! I think this news comes form the recent toyfair that took place. Maybe there are other pics floating around but for now relyonhorror has got some pics of Vector in toy form. Pretty cool!

            • I wouldn't be at all suprised if a year from now we get a headline from Capcom, "It was a bad idea to source Resident Evil to an outside developer."

              • Hmm, I'm quite conflicted for the time being, all I can say is that if I don't get a demo in time + enjoy said demo, I will cancel my pre-order.

I can always just buy the game when it goes on the cheap, which won't take long to happen if it's as shyte as everyone is saying.

                • See those are reasonable demands right there: Release a demo if you want me to release my money.

I should recommend this to survival horror fans interested in Silent Hill Downpour. They better damn well release a demo before the game comes out!

                  • I generally worry if a hyped game doesnt release a demo of some kind at least 2-3 months before its release.

Player feedback and impressions really is important.

                            • DVD and art book sound like they're worth more than the game as it stands now .

                              • I want to believe this won't be so bad.
Biggest problem for me is mexican retailers being assholes and selling the special edition for almost 110USD.
