People think its all about the fans, and while that may partially be true, a company is also about keeping up with the times and making money.

If the times mean less diversity and less stuff then...well, shit. God damn masses.

Then again, do they realize COD is a phenomenon and far rarer then an exception? They do realize those silky controls and frame rate are some of the reasons people keep coming back for it that almost all other developers haven't aped, right? Has existing franchises have been successful recently because they were CODified? Because it's harder to tell who was excited for the sequel because they enjoyed the previous game and those who were interested the newer gameplay.

So has anyone found out yet if the Spec Ops DLC missions are already on the disc?

Well, I picked up the game late afternoon yesterday and managed to sit down and play it for a few hours. I played three missions of campaign and a good amount of multiplayer. My impressions? Campaign alone is terrible. I found myself having to go back half the time just to revive all three of my squadmates, who somehow managed to kill themselves in like 4 rooms away. Also, the boss fights so far, oh jesus. Running from Birkin wasn't fun and trying to even fight nicholai in the clock tower was a pain in the ass. Snipers seem to be awful in this game.

As for Multiplayer, I had a better time with it, despite encountering a shitload of glitches. I've encountered matches where I got stuck in walls/on objects, melee'd and killed air, have had the audio "crackle and pop", and even had one match where most of the audio all together just disappeared. O.o Oh, the game also froze on me once randomly in the middle of a match. Despite these annoying issues (seriously, did anyone even test this game?), I had quite a good amount of fun with it. Heroes is my favorite mode by far. I had an epic match where I was chasing Claire down as Ada, and as she had her back to a staircase, a T-103 walked up behind her, grabbed her by the head and lifted her up. I immediately began to unload ammo into her until she dropped down, dead. While probably not as much for the person playing as Claire, I thought it was awesome. All in all, I think I'll be playing multi quite a bit for a little while anyway. I have a few gripes with it, such as it randomly taking forever to knife people one round, then they seem to knife me in like 6 hits even when I somehow have full health. Also getting knocked around on your ass half the time is frustrating, but besides that, it's pretty fun.

Besides Heroes, the only other modes I tried were Biohazard (which was a typical CTF mode, which I usually have no interest in) and Nemesis mode (which was terrible). Luckily with Nemesis mode, I apparently had points on my account that I didn't even know they were there, so I don't feel ripped off that much, but still pretty annoyed.

But Sven over at Capcom-Unity must be sweating bullets hoping that hackers stay away from this ORC DLC... unlike what happened with SFxT DLC.... already on the damn disc. Since day one.

The Japanese version of the game is coming out on April 26, 2012. In its censored "D" rated form! Less gore, no decapitations, what so ever.
