  • Yes, I really do call it Orc. It's hideous abomination of a monster, against all that is right and holy, that occasionally murders and violates lesser games. Sounds like an Orc to me.

    • I think it'll be hard to find someone to talk about the positive points of ORC because it's not that good of a game and the ones that can say good things about it are disencouraged because all of the negative shit the game's getting.

But yeah, apparently Revelations only did 110,268 in the US full stop...so this news is kinda sad.
I wouldn't be sad. In only like 2 months Revelations already has sold half a million worldwide. That's a lot more than Mercenaries 3D total sales in 11 months. This on a handheld with barely a year on the market and with a growing user base.

But it's "fun", right? ORC? Multiplayer and stuff? That's the argument I keep reading from those that try to defend their purchase of this game.

        That it's FUN.

          • Rented it for a couple of days, played campaign through 1.5 times and tried the multiplayer which was okay when it connected. Maybe the fact I am half way around the world from most players did not help.

I think there was a lot of potential in the game but it was just all sabotaged by simple bad choices and a lot of rushing to get the game out as soon as they could.

That I could deal with, reminding myself not to take Resident Evil too seriously, as I often do.......but there are just far too many frustrations with the game-play, particularly glitches that are inexcusable & poor A.I. that detract from the fun part.
I completely see your point Pickminister, because I can see a fun & enjoyable game crying to get out of this frustrating abomination.

              • I'm ready to give this game a single positive.

The Tyrant fights, (the two T-103's and the Super Tyrant battle on the lift) were the most enjoyable moments, and I actually came away satisfied with each battle.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go and lie down.

Are those Tyrants related to the ones this user complained about?

I just fought the 2 tyrants and they just walked off into the distance and didnt come after me ONCE. Even when i didnt shoot them they fucking stood there and walked around like a fucking monkey with a blindfold on.
That user played on the 360 version. If it makes any difference.

                  • Hmm odd mine was 360 as well.

I dunno - But I expected so much more from Nemesis, and that fight is honestly fucking terrible. But the two T-103's they were fairly relentless and I used good old fashioned Resident Evil dodge tactics and shoot them after a big attack type methods. Was great fun, the most fun I've had with the entire game to be honest. It just played well, like a Resident Evil game.

With the Super Tyrant it wasn't quite as powerful as it should of been, but it was still good fun.

That seems to be the common consensus from what most folks been saying about the game. Quite frankly you can really call this game a missed opportunity.

Capcom logic: ORC (360, PS3) sold more units than Revelations (3DS). Survival horror is dead.

Who designed Birkin ? He's a complete fuck-wit without any comprehension of what this character should look like....and on the subject of WB, the first battle with him has to be the most poorly designed battle ever portrayed in a video game, and I've been playing 'em since 1980.

I don't even have to go into the fucking appalling AI.......the graphics are from the 90s , the frame rate seems to be taken from Goldeneye circa '97, the camera appears to be 1 second behind the perspective of the player, as if I am controlling a drunk, and anything remotely resembling a scenario from RE2, or RE3, has been destroyed with a Paul Anderson sledgehammer.

Slant 6 is a fucking disgrace, of sub-standard developers, talentless fuck-pigs, with intellect devoid of subtlety, wit, grace, or even a common understanding of how to develop a basic shoot-em-up.

I am getting tired of that boring, generic constant gun-fire noise.......do these cunts from Slant 6 have such little respect for us as game-players, that they think this sub-standard, desolate repetition is acceptable ?

I have 8-bit computer games from 1986 that show more flare & understanding of how to create an atmospheric battle......try Operation Wolf on the Amstrad CPC6128 you fucking arseholes, and see how a game over 20 years old makes ORC look like an 8 year old's school project on how to make Call of Duty EVEN MORE fucking vacuous.......NOT all gamers are fucking morons.

The designs for CLASSIC RE monsters could not have appeared more plastic & generic, even if those Slant 6 half-wits had sat around for days asking themselves "How can we drain these iconic B.O.W.s of every ounce of terror that they have".

The events surrounding RE2 & RE3 cannot be matched in any game series for shere odious atmosphere, human tragedy, and sinister environments, yet these talentless morons from Slant 6 have managed to take that iconography, and replace it with dull & dark, bland & grey, corridors & rooms that only match a supermarket isle for total ennui.

HOW THE FUCK DID YOU MANAGE THIS SLANT 6 ?.........a disastrous combination of very poor, talentless & un-imaginative 'developers' coupled with a staggering ignorance & arrogance towards those that enjoy the RE series.
Best rant ever! I particularly enjoyed the "talentless fuck-pigs" bit.
                        Mass production? Ridiculous!

Slant Six is actually busy thanking REAL Resident Evil FANS for making ORC such a big hit worldwide.
