    • Well is a lot better than USS campaign, also you get new Versus maps so is actually campaign DLC and map pack rolled into one. This makes it far better value for money and others games would often charge you twice for it.

By the Trail of our Dead

      - Starts off on city streets getting overun with Crimson heads, they keep coming until you set up barriers (press and holding a button for set time)
      - In the next street you encounter Carlos and must save him from a zombie swarm, he tells you he was heading to City Hall to search for survivors but that soldiers were setting up bombs, you get shot at by USS and he goes off alone not to be seen again.
      - You fight it out on the street out front of city hall, there are USS snipers as well as ground troops, plus zombies.
      - You enter city hall, USS have set up three bombs inside you need defuse (press and hold for a time again).
      - You basically make your way about the city hall level encountering USS troops, lickers, crimson heads, zombies while finding these bombs.
      - Boss fight, lots of USS troops dropping in on you plus a heavy armoured soldier who takes craploads of damage and can insta kill you with melee.
      - You find the records room, stop some USS attempting to destroy evidence with flamethrowers, find plans that tell you were the umbrella lab is.
      - City hall is reused map though you get to see an extra room or two, streets before are new.

I Now Know Why You Cry

      - You start off on the exit to the building that leads to the power plant, the clocktower bell rings and it sets of swarms of crimson heads
      - As you turn a corner you get a cutscene reproducing the RE3 scene where Nemesis shoots down the chopper, JIll and Carlos are there.
      - You argue with commander that you owe them so you head to the fight.
      - Fight through a couple alleys and pass through the clocktower to find Nemesis defeated and Carlos holding an unconscious Jill, Nemesis begins to wake and you tell Carlos you will hold him off, carlos leaves carrying Jill
      - You run from Nemesis more than fight him, you need get him to fire his rocket launcher at you and dodge to rocket to blow open the gates to the park
      - Park is full of zombies, need get Nemesis to fire at sewer entrance and dodge again, you then enter the sewers.
      - From here ownwards is all new map.
      - You make your way through the sewers getting attacked by zombies, lickers and such until you exit into a building
      - You make your way through mostly fighting USS troops
      - You reach a refinery area and Nemesis turns up again
      - Boss fight, you need activate switches to build up molten lead, then lure Nemesis underneath, stun him (via damage) and let the molten lead drop on him.
      - After the first time he loses his rocket launcher, after the second zombies and crimson heads attack, need do it three time in all, you can also find a rocket launcher to use from a USS troop.
      - Mission ends after he is defeated.

      Nothing Is As It Seems

      - Start off in sewers, different map to previous mission sewers, completely new maps for entire mission.
      - Fight off some USS troops, as you move along you see more but Birkin bursts through a wall and kills them, he then heads back where he came from
      - You find some flares, these are used like grenades
      - Next few sections are pitch black, you need use flares to light the sewer while fighting off zombies
      - You reach a lit area of sewers where you meet Claire, she tells you she is looking for Sherry and you agree to help and follower her
      - Next section goes dark again but not pitch black like before, filled with NE-Beta parasites, they run away towards a zombie swarm, bond and attack you, some just attack.
      - As you make your way through fighting these you see it happen a couple times, parasite groups running for zombies.
      - Here Birkin call Sherry, then he busts through a wall and attacks Claire, you need save he and then run from him.
      - After escape Birkin Claire splits off alone.
      - You make you way to a large tunnel getting attacked by lickers on the way, Sherry is inside by seperated from you on the other side.
      - You need guide her through dark areas with thrown flares to the other end while also defending her from zombie attacks, then again into another long tunnel.
      - Next section you need defend her in a large roundish room while she makes her way to door unlock controls for your team to proceed.
      - As you head to Sherry a wierd coloured Hunter attacks you, it runs off after some damage, then regular Hunters attack, then the rainbow hunter returns, you kill it.
      - After finally meeting up with her you escort her though some locked doors which she can open with a keycard, then back into sewers, zombies attack.
      - Then crimson heads, and more zombies
      - Through another keypad door into even more sewers, Birkin attacks
      - Claire shows up again and takes Sherry, your team covers their escape and lure Birkin into an incinerator room
      - Boss battle, need activate switches and burn Birkin, they have a long recharge and can miss if he not in right position, not sure if this required to beat him and not just shooting, but sure helps.
      - Mission end, really long mission.

Spec Ops campaign is much better than USS campaign and this is just half of it. So much more varied in what you do and seems like more thought went into it, when you fight zombies you always much more thrown at you than in campaign also, much more fun and easier to get overwhelmed. Boss fight much better also.

It crossed my mind, it is that sort of colour. No poison though (no such game mechanic in ORC) and what would one be doing in RC anyway?

SEE SLANT SIX?! It's THAT fucking easy to tie in effortlessly with the core games. I could proper get behind this game doing stuff like this - brilliant idea.

Indeed, unless its meant to be the MA-121B? Or if there is just the one it may be an easter egg of sorts.

                • 10 bucks for 3 missions and 2 maps... I guess I'll wait for the eventual bundle of all the missions and all mp maps for 15 dollars.

                  • So am I right in thinking it will be another 10 quid for another 2-3 missions? So thats a total of £50 for this game and thats not including the alternate costumes. I just paid £14 for Killzone 2 and 3 so glad my money went elsewhere.

                    • Spec Ops Campaign > USS Campaign, easy. I've had a lot of fun with their missions.

                      • Needs Gamma Hunters, not rainbow hunters.

                        • I don't get how they can design the Spec Ops campaign so well but not the USS campaign. Is like they heard complaints wit the USS campaign design and adressed the problems, except they didn't since this DLC was complete before release. Always the chance the second half of Spec Ops is a repeat of USS but doubtful, the first 4 missions alone make it better than USS regardless how 5-7 end up.

                          • They're not too far off. Interaction with characters and objectives are going to be different because one faction aims to kill and destroy while the other is to protect. I could see the latter being more of a challenge as the "kill characters" section of U.S.S. is more scripted and not fully utilized till the final boss fight where it's actually more difficult to oppose Leon rather than side with him.

Protecting Jill and the others wasn't too problematic. I had more difficulties putting up barricades and defusing bombs with crimson heads and lickers running around. I needed more cover rather than co-op partners running around.

                            • Not so much the story that is improved (though it is, a lot) I was meaning, great ideas like the pitch black sewer and lighting your way with flares could have been done in USS campaign but wasn't. That is a great part of that mission, actually puts you on edge a bit with crimson heads and zombies barely visible except for occasional spark from the flare giving an outline of them heading at you, I never expected any horror from ORC and never saw any in the base game, but then that section actually provided some. The boss fights are more than just "Put bullets into enemy for 5-10 minutes". The Nicholai fight is pretty awful, where as luring, stunning and pouring molten lead on Nemesis is great.

                              • The best part of Spec Ops is surprisingly the escort mission with Sherry. protecting her from crimson heads was quite a thrill action wise.
