True. Look what they did with the RPD; the iconic second floor safe room was nothing but a fully empty bland extension of the corridor.

I do agree, but still I found visiting Iron's office (and the RPD, in general) for evidence was a nice touch, they could've ignore the previous designs and redone the whole thing if they wanted. I know I can't defend ORC and I don't want to as it's pointless, but I feel sometimes people are too harsh with the game...

Okay, so I just played the first two levels and I'm totally unimpressed by this game. The graphics are meh, the controls could have been better (just because I'm near this wall doesn't mean I want to take cover, stop taking cover godamnit!), maybe I need to configure the audio settings but the sound just seems kinda off to me. It has a very arcade-y feeling to it, which is not bad not just what I was expecting I guess, it's very obvious they designed the campaing only thinking about the online mode.

It's a 6/10 to me, it's probably more fun playing online with other people. I'll wait for the SpecOps DLC which people are saying is much better but I don't think my opinion will change that much, which is a shame because I had high hopes for it when it was announced.
