I'm glad that it was denounced as the official RE4 HD as it looked like something bad that I could have made myself.
Still looking forward to seeing what they do for the HD RE4 as I still like putting 4 in and giving it a bash. As long as they don't do a poor port of the PS2 content, which was a downgraded version of the GCs .
You gotta ask the question: What's the cheapest way for Capcom to port the games with the least effort? Because I imagine that's exactly how they'll do it.
There's a difference between just wanting to make money and wanting to make money while putting out quality goods. No one with an ounce of sanity doesn't want Capcom making money, except rivals like Konami. But Capcom falls squarely in the first category, and it's not something they really want a reputation for. It is well earned, though. With Resident Evil, for example, about half the series is well done and polished...while the other half is bad ports and games like Gaiden, the Chronicles games and, according to you at least Stu, Outbreak. And that's not including Director's Cuts, Dual Shock Editions, etc.
Yes, other companies pull the same shit...Capcom just does it more. A lot more.
Why do people still struggle to get their heads around the idea of Capcom's primary objective is to make money?
I have nothing against anyone making money, its just when its done in such a lazy way which annoys me, which is Capcom's speciality. Do very little, whack a large price on it.
Look, they allowed that really inferior PC port of RE4. Either they did not care to check up on its progress or they were busy counting the royalties. It was only when people started bitching that lighting wasn't included that they released the patch.
