As much as I'd like it, it's not likely to happen. I think RE4HD, RECVHD and ORR in Capcom's eyes are more than enough to tide us over for the next couple of years. I think focusing on the handhelds is their main step from here for now. NGP might be possible.

Yes, because I have to be a "budget" gamer since I can't afford spending cash on every damn console that appears (even if I want to!). Not complaining that it's on 3DS, BTW, I would love to have that sexy piece of hardware in my hands, just can't afford it - yet.

I wouldn't bet on that, myself. If Revelations sells well it may well get ported. The only games that don't are the ones that don't sell that well. The only reason I can't play RE4 on my wrist watch is it's anaologue.

^A portable game ported to the home consoles? It usually goes the other way around. Also the game is being developed specifically for the 3DS.

Both true, but there are enough 3D Tv's around now that it certainly wouldn't be impossible to have that as a feature. I think the new Killzone does, doesn't it? And this is Capcom. If it sells, they'll find more places to sell it. None of the handheld games have been enough of a success to port yet, although given it's pretty much just Gaiden and Deadly Silence (also a port) that's not a shock.

Unless the code used by the 3DS somehow makes porting exceptionally difficult, which I don't imagine given it's catalogue of PlayStation, PS2 and N64 titles doesn't seem too likely, I can really imagine it could be released, although possibly as a PSN/Xbox Live game.

I'm pretty sure that Revelations is not going to be ported, it's like waiting for REmake and Zero on PS3 or X360, it's not going to happen.

It's a game for a portable console and how many portable games were ported to home consoles? Let's be realistic, the chances are pretty thin, if they exist at all.

Don't care. But it is being made with the 3DS in mind, so I'm very excited to see how they worki it.

Didn't Rockstart port the Liberty City Stories to PS2? May not remember it quite right, as I don't care about my PS2 very much.

I have seen cases where portable games find their way to consoles. Silent Hill Origins for example.

I believe that if the game sells well it is possible for Capcom. They managed to make RE4 even more fun to play when it came out on the Wii. Just because its designed around another product doesn't mean it can't be tweaked and ported.

I have no interest in a 3DS at this time. I would rarely use the 3D and the game lineup so far doesn't excite me since it feels more of the same. Case in point is the other RE title for the 3DS. I have enough fun playing Mercenaries for RE4 and 5 that I don't feel the need to buy what appears to be a mash up lacking essential characters or new level designs. Thanks, but I'll pass.

If Revelations isn't just another RE5 and actually lives up to its hype then I might consider a 3DS for it. Likely a used one. Hopefully there would also be newer games out by then that would grab my attention.

My hope is that Capcom ports it to a console to spare me inconvenience of buying a hand held I don't care to own.

Yeah, I think Liberty City Stories did got ported to the PS2, I was thinking about it when I wrote that. I'm just saying that games going from portable consoles to home consoles is very rare.

I admit, it's mostly because it's Capcom that I think it's possible. The guys there are absoloutely mad for porting. So long as it's 1) Cheap to do it and 2) likely to sell I can't imagine Capcom saying, 'You know what? We won't bother this time, unlike the dozen plus other times we've ported games to new systems. It's not like we're doing it right now with CODE: Veronica and RE4...' And I reckon Revelations looks at least as nice as CODE: Veronica, if not as spiffy as RE4.

I don't think Revelations would be going anywhere, but don't be suprised if Mercs gets PSN/XBLA version, it would lend itself well to that kind of structure.

But then again Kojima hinted at Peace Walker going to PSN but it never happened, or is yet to happen so who knows.

I went for "don't care". I have a 3DS and I love it, so obviously I have no problem with getting Revelations. As for whether it'll actually happen, I'm leaning towards doubting it.

It all depends how much the game utilises the 3DS' unique features. 3D wouldn't be impossible on a console, but unlikely at this point in my opinion. Not that this is essential to play the game, but it would be what gives the 3DS the advantage over a console version.

I don't know how much the game will rely on the touch screen. It'll be used to quickly select weapons and items, which wouldn't be a problem on a console as that could use the same inventory system as in RE5. But if it is used for more than that then it may be more effort to port. The microphone could be used too - it's unlikely but hey, it was used in Deadly Silence for puzzles.

Even if Revelations was to be ported, it most likely wouldn't happen for quite some time after it's original 3DS release. So we will have no choice but to buy a 3DS if we want to play it. But I will still look for a third-party device that will allow me to hook it up to my TV. This game will probably look so much better on the TV screen.

The part where Jill walks into that dark room with the degenerator reminds me of 3.5. 3.5 never got released, so that's why I'm really eager to see more of this game, especially since it is supposed to be a "pure horror game."

They won't port it. Nintendo learned from RE4, they've lock Capcom into exclusivity contracts for all RE0, REmake, and the two Wii games. This will be no different.
