From a business standpoint, considering the hiking costs of game development, exclusives should be a dead practice by now. Under or over a rock or not.

How would it hurt anyone to have Revelations on multiple platforms, even if it is a platform you don't like. Solution is, buy it for the platform you want, don't kill choice for others just because of what you like or don't like.
I voted no, I'd rather Capcom work on an original NEW game than create another port.
Besides keeping it exclusive brings more fans to that platform, meaning there is greater chance for another game to be made for the platform.Beanovsky Durst - "They are not pervs. They are japanese."

I don't want it to be ported. Most likely CAPCOM will pull a dick move and port it anyways (ala RE4 to PS2, PC, NGC).
If it came out to another system would I buy it? Probably just for collecting sake I would. If it costs more than the 3DS counterpart then count me out till it comes down in price.

I reckon that's shifting it over to another console, something Capcom have a slight history of doing (How many versions of RE1 are there now? Not including Remake, of course) but others feel differently.
Personally, I'm not gonna buy a 3DS for this. I'm not gonna buy a 3DS for a long, long time for that amtter. So I'd really like it if it came to another console. On the other hand...I'd have prefered Valkyria Chroncles 2 and The Third Birthday on the PS3, even though I own a PSP. I'm not a big handheld fan, I only use mine when I'm putting my kids down for a nap. So, it's safe to say I'm not the market it's aimed at, and with Mercs they would have to release it with a diamond the fist of my fist to get me to buy it regardless of console. But I'd buy Revelations for a console I own. I might even think about buying it new...if the talk of it being scary pans out.

There are instances of "lazy ports" like with REmake and Zero on wii, and, on the other hand, instances of good ports like RE4 wii edition.

You also have to factor the trust level a gamer has (or rather had) with Capcom.
For instance they had a fair amount of knowledge that RE4 was going to port to the PS2. It didn't take them long to announce it.
So kids like me at the time who saved up under the guise that the main series was moving to gamecube were tricked into getting a copy. And while I collected (some rightfully say was suckered) into picking up the ports of RE2, 3 and Code Veronica on gamecube for as shocking prices as they were I think its safe to say that certain customers had a right to complain. Especially when it was announced that the PS2 version was going to have extra features added to it. So not only is RE4 not the gamecube exclusive everyone was to believe, but now its the incomplete experience. And there's more cases like this to tack on to Capcom's resume.
I'm not a console fanboy, but I do know how quick it is to start a console war. All it takes is that little spark. RE4 was part of that spark.
So after years of experience the only thing I can grasp is that if mercs or revelations does well a port is very likely. The "exclusive" or "only for" tag line means very little. It's wasted ink.

Anywhere else, things remain as they always been like. Especially on handhelds. More or less.Stuff to remember: Avoid forums if you're having a bad day.

Resident Evil DS was the only reason I bought a DS to begin with. When I wasn't playing the game, I never used it. Revelations would have to look really good and live up to the "pure horror game" that they have been saying, to make me buy a 3DS for it.
But considering how it really does look like a 360/PS3 game on a handheld, gives it a better chance at actually being ported to the 360/PS3.
