Hmmm...this "decay" game interests me, never heard of it. I also loved Eternal Darkness, really psychological and entertaining how you keep playing as numerous characters in various times throughout the world, knowing they're all screwed from the start lol. Right when you start to get attached to one - Dead. The hall of fate with the statues of all the characters you've lived through is one the best designed ideas I've ever seen.Last edited by REmaster; 06-13-2011, 06:31 AM."One can only match, move by move, the machinations of fate... and thus defy the tyrannous stars."

FEAR and it's 2 expansion packs had some of the greatest elements of tention and horror for something so responsive and unclunky of a genre like FPS.Last edited by Member_of_STARS; 06-13-2011, 05:09 AM.

I'm not reading 49 replies, so i'll drop by quickly with this...
Bollocks. Does anyone really trust Capcom enough to do a good job now of taking the series back to it's roots? Those days are gone. The series started beautifully, but it'll never sit comfortably within that genre ever again.
It's funny that this forum is littered with people who slag off Capcom's every move yet people would still trust them enough to restore some class to the series again. Not happening. We say it all the time, but Capcom is about the money and they've found the series' sweetspot where that is concerned.
Capcom says Revelations is taking the series back to it's roots. You've all seen the videos by now, don't be blinded by the hype and PR spiel, it's simply not.
Just wait for a second Forbidden Siren remake and be happy with that.

Excella turns into a big blob of shit
Those old survival horror days are over indeed. No more typewriters(no more save rooms with that awesome music, no more item boxes, no more inventory screens for the most part, and no real puzzles. I wouldn't be suprised if they did away with the herb/first aid spray in the near future, I mean what else can they take away? Oh yea, our money(if you choose to give it to them of course, in which case most of us will).
As Bob Dylan once said, these times, they are a changin'. We can sit here and talk about how we want this and we want that, but in the end we get what they give us. If it's not what we wanted than all we can do is take a deep breath, exhale with a curse word and resume talking about the old games. I'm actually really looking forward to Operation Raccoon City.
Is it the old school survival horror RE game I want? Hell no it isn't, not even close...but it is, an action packed game for stupid fun co-op action, which I don't mind when it's not forced into a numbered Resident Evil game that was suppose to tie up all the loose ends. Honestly, I'll have to wait until the next main RE game(most likely 6) comes out before I can truly judge where the series is going, and if I'll finally stop following it.Last edited by REmaster; 06-13-2011, 07:10 AM."One can only match, move by move, the machinations of fate... and thus defy the tyrannous stars."

It is a great game. It's basically a click and point that comes in 4 parts and you have to navigate through a seriously fucked up/creepy environment. It's hard to describe even why it's so unnerving, it just is. It is ideal for RE fans, really. Travelling through a creepy/scary environment, solving puzzles. Except this is less "evil monsters out to kill you", more "You wake up hanging from a noose in your bathroom, no idea how you got there and are stuck in a supernatural world of death". Especially for you, Guardhouse. You turn to enter a door, just as you have been for the entire game, and suddenly this fucker pops up making a AAARGHUUUUGH noise, then just fades out, like you imagined it or something.

You seem to be ignoring random pipe bursts of steam or whatever else, rattling in the walls of enemies that sometimes do not appear, screams of enemies that are hiding somewhere in the area.
You post seem to have double standards between RE and DS.Last edited by Dracarys; 06-13-2011, 01:34 PM.Beanovsky Durst - "They are not pervs. They are japanese."

Still, good to see you back, i guess three or four weeks is long enough in hiding from lying your face off about fake Capcom C&D's

Some people have suggested making a game that is a bit of both. As in keep the action intact but make it more horror.
What once was Dawn of the Dead is now like Dog Soldiers or Predators. However, I'm sure Capcom just want to cater to what the new generation of gamers are most happy with and be content with that!
Capcom figured that shooters were the way to go.
