  • Am I right in thinking that the actual script is canon but the video is not. Take away the video and listen to the audio only isn't it actually accurate to the titles? (Though i'll be honest I cannot remember what Wesker's description of the Hunk thing is - will just look it up).

Ahhh no, Wesker specifically mentions Hunk retrieving the vial Leon threw away, so jah, botched I guess.

      • Anyway...

The link Darkmoon posted a few pages back to an interview with Hideki Kamiya that News Bot provided seems to answer the original question about this thread. Q21 Kamiya suggests that Hunk already secured the G sample before the rest of his team was decimated by William. This is backed up with how the scene plays out in Darkside Chronicles where he picks up the sample from the table. This is the version which makes more sense to me.
The idea that Hunk retrieves the sample Leon threw is ridiculous not to mention there's no conceivable way Wesker could know Leon threw a sample away in the first place. (I get that he is narrating a summary of events here but this is a plot device as he says 'his people hurried to retrieve the sample that Leon threw'. But there is no way for him to know about this realistically.

Darkside wins over Wesker's Report in this respect for me.

Kamiya himself also stated to me on Twitter that he thought HUNK got it from the lab.

I can also mention that one of Kamiya's favourite bands is a-ha.

                Undeniable FACTUAL EVIDENCE.

Statements from the director would be credible, not quite canon. He also confirmed that 4th Survivor was pretty much shoe-horned in at the end of development, he came up with the G-virus (which has no name, so "God" and "Gene" are fan-fic nonsense) and wrote 1.5.

Unfortunately, Kamiya is often swamped with retarded questions from the userbase on Twitter. This is why we can't have nice things.

I wonder if the G in G-virus/creature was derived from the early unused 1.5 boss named Gorgoda. They used the design of Gorgoda (and Zeiram, the other early unused boss) for G-Birkin's 1.5 mutations. The T-virus is named after the Tyrant, so maybe the original idea was G was for Gorgoda-Virus and when they scrapped the monster, they just let the G stick. Just speculation, not saying it's true. Might be something to ask Kamiya about on twitter sometime haha.

Actually, the name's "Golgotha" (ゴルゴタ, Gorugota), like the mountain where they killed Jesus. But yes, this sounds like something that could very well be true. I see in my illustration in the Biohazard Archives book that Wesker's face is somehow attached to its tail – might be cool to know what was planned for that, too.

Woah, I never noticed Wesker's face before (no wonder, it's sideways). That's pretty freaky, what on earth was the intention behind that? Ahaha. Lends more credence to Wesker's survival (or non-survival in this case perhaps) having been planned from the beginning (right now his survival was planned at least before the release of BH2).

Also, Zeiram is named after the creature in a 1991 Japanese movie... called Zeiram.
