Resident Evil 4 was divided into chapters while it remained real-time and rather connected with prior completed chapters until certain points towards the end of the castle chapters or/and once you reach the island.
Although, RE5 story chapters were very subdivided and every chapter was its own linear journey of getting from point A to point B, which was rather limited as opposed to RE4 that felt more like a long and very immersive Adventure.

It's most likely to be like this :
Chapter 1 : Jill on the ship
Chapter 2 : Chris in the mountains
Chapter 3 : Chris on the ship before Jill arrive
Chapter 4 : Ship arrive on an island, we play again as Jill
Chapter 5 : Finale, Jill in the laboratory of the island
I see no more than 5 chapters for this game. I don't think we should expect a handheld title to have the same length than RE4 or RE5.

Originally posted by akiraodasanFirst off all, I am sorry for my English. Here in Japan, we don’t usually speak English but I hope you’ll find this quick walkthrough of Biohazard: Revelations interesting.
So I was offered to try the game at Osaka based Capcom office for testing Biohazard: Revelations a week after the E3 2011, and let me tell you that since I am outside Japan andalive, I hope you enjoy this quick walkthrough before I delete this post before Capcom finds out about it. I did this because I know there are people really want to know about Biohazard: Revelations, and information Capcom sent out are not enough.
This quick walkthrough contains huge spoilers.
So the game starts with an opening cut scene with credits, with Jill’s narrating about her mission to find Chris and Jessica, showing tugboat passing by the cruise ship. They stopped somewhere behind the cruise ship, both Jill and Parker climb up. Now again, like RE4 and RE5, there will be chapters and some will divided into 3 or 4 sub-chapters.
Chapter 1-1
(Player will play as Jill) 7:31pm Mediterranean Sea, both Jill and Parker are somewhere outside the cruise ship, where there are containers. Player will have to follow Parker. There’s a tutorial showing how to walk and run (Circle Pad = Walk / Circle Pad + B = Run). While following Parker, they both begin to talk, something about their last contact with Chris and Jessica, and then got cut off, and revealed that was 38 minutes ago. Jill also said their last radar signal located somewhere in this ship, but not showing the exact location. Suddenly, the ship sakes, Parker asked if Jill is alright. They found the door, both of them got in. They’re somewhere in the store room, where there are lots of boxes. Player will have to investigate the place, player will have to use the BSAA Bio Scanner, showing another tutorial how to use the Bio-Scanner (D-Pad Right = Swap / R + Y = Scan). When moving forward, out of the sudden (with a creepy soundtrack), you’ll see quick scene of a shadowy enemy suddenly walks behind the box shelf to off screen. Parker alarms Jill, and asking Jill if she saw it, too, which she answered “Yeah, me too”. When player goes behind the box shelf, where the enemy passed by, player will notice that there’s a vent on the wall, and which that’s where the enemy went in. Player will have to enter the next door.
Within that door, is a room covered with blood and again, where there are placed boxes on ground and shelf. Jill sees a body in front of her, runs towards it. “Oh my God…” said Jill. “What the hell happened here?” Parker draws his gun. Parker asked if she guessing the massacre was caused by B.O.W she encounter before, and she said that this B.O.W attack is something different. She then noticed a gun on the floor, covered in blood. Jill picks up the gun, she said this gun belongs to the BSAA, and hope it isn’t Chris’s or Jessica’s. An enemy slowly ascends behind Jill, and out of the sudden, attacks Jill, but luckily Jill backs off, both Jill and Parker points their guns at it. Now player will have to shoot the enemy, it shows another tutorial (R + Y = Shoot / R + L = Move while aiming / R + X = Knife). When the enemy grabs Jill, Parker can help Jill by either shooting at it, or uses melee attack (Parker’s animation is something like Chris’s punch). After killing the first enemy, a cut-scene of Parker investigate the enemy. “This is… a different B.O.W.” said Parker. “Chris never mentioned anything about this B.O.W.” Jill shivers. Parker gets up, sighs, and looks at Jill “Does these things got Chris and Jessica?” “I hope not…” “Yeah, me too. Come on, if this is really that worst, then we really have to find Chris and Jessica fast, and find out what the hell is going on here.” “Yeah” Jill then whispers to herself “Where are you, Chris…”
Player will then have to enter the next door. Now if you remember the demo that was available with The Mercenaries 3D, that’s where Jill and Parker are, but there are some new things. First of all, it’s not set on 9:15pm. Remember there was a tied up guy behind the yellow door? Well he’s no longer there, but the chair is still there, but covered with blood. The rats are still, jumps out from the fuse box, and there’s no purpose about the messed up wires. The area is very linear, player will have to go up the stair, go inside the staff bedroom, and fight another enemy in the bathroom, but not exactly how it was in the demo. The bathroom was first empty, when player walks to the next door, an enemy suddenly comes out off the vent next to it. “Parker, we got contact!” Now this is different, another enemy comes out from another vent behind the Jill and Parker. Attack it as well, because anywhere player runs, the enemies will chase the player by traveling through the vents. After that, there’s a dairy in the locker room. Outside the room is the small hallway, with broken window, and yes, the bats are still there. The door in front is locked, and so are the others, but that door’s key is somewhere nearby. They both hear a man screaming for help. “Do you hear that? Someone’s in trouble!” Player will have to follow the sound of the man screaming.
By the time they arrive, both witnesses the man’s death by an enemy throwing him against the glass sheet in the patient room, and there’s another enemy with it. Now in the demo, the door closes and locks by itself when attacking them, but here, the door does close, but remain unlocked. After killing the enemies, player will have to take the key from the deceased man. Another enemy comes out from the vent while on the way to that door, but player can dodge and unlock the door. Inside, Parker runs towards the opened door (it was scripted), suddenly the ship shakes again, but stronger, which causes the ship to tilt. The door Parker went in closes by itself, which leaves Jill behind. “JILL! JILL!” Parker shouts. The water storms through the room where Jill is. Now another tutorial pops out, showing how to swim (Circle Pad = Swim / X = Swim up / B = Swim down). Jill has exactly 20 seconds before she runs out of air. Player will have to swim through whatever drags her. Now she’s swimming somewhere in a hallway. Player will have to avoid being hit by any heavy obstacles (1 or 2 hits will kill the player). There will be an enemy (and a new enemy that swims and polutes water) chasing the player and player can’t attack while swimming. After reaching to the surface, Jill contacts Parker. Parker’s glad to hear Jill is alright. Parker said he’s somewhere in the public hallway, and asked Jill if she can make it.
Now player will have to climb up on one of the floating containers, then climbs up on the platform. There’s only one door, so player will have to go there. Going in there, player is now in a cold store room with medicines, going through the next door is another patient room, but larger, where there are a lot of dead bodies. Player will have to follow the map (from the touch screen), showing a yellow signal, which shows where Parker is. Now enemies are nowhere to be found. The door she’s trying to get out requires a password. Player will have to investigate areas while wondering around. Player will have to find the password. Using Bio-Scanner on the dead person on the floor, examine the body, it’ll show a password “1882” on the card. When unlocking the door, player will notice the faded sound of footsteps. “Is someone there?” Jill shouts, while player’s walking. When almost reaching to Parker’s location, a cut scene showing someone off-screen shoots a dart at Jill’s neck. Jill knocks out, and the cut scene ends with a slow black fade with a Russian man’s voice “Sleep well, Jill Valentine” Then the animation logo of Biohazard Revelations revealed (This was the Japanese version).
(End of Chapter 1-1)
Chapter 1-2
Jill wakes up in the bedroom, confused. Parker contacts Jill, asking her where she is now. She wasn’t sure, but said that she feels like she’s in a mansion, judging how the bedroom she’s now is like. Parker then tells her to meet at the bridge.
Now player lost the Bio-Scanner, and have to investigate the room. The door is locked, but a next to the door is the fuse box. Player will have to find way to open it. The only unlocked door is the bathroom. A bath tub, filled dirt water, player will have to drain the water. A screw driver is located there after the drain. After picking up the screw driver, the sound of enemy can be heard. When the player heads back to the bedroom, an enemy suddenly comes out from the closet. Player MUST kill the enemy in order to solve the first puzzle. Player will then have to unscrew the fuse box and solve the first puzzle, and that puzzle has 2 phases; 1st is simply tap the nails for Jill to unscrew, and the 2nd phase is to connect the wires. It’s a very easy puzzle.
After solving the first puzzle, the door unlocks, going through the door, player is somewhere in the hallway. Player will find a shotgun within room straight ahead. When the player picks up the shotgun, another tutorial pops out (D-Pad Up/Down = Swap). Now this shotgun can shoot only 2 bullets, and has its really slow for Jill to reload. Going out from the hallway by using the next door leads the player to the library. There’s an enemy crawling out from the bookshelf. Player can avoid it, but remember, this enemy can travel through vents (Just think of Dead Space 2). Coming out from that room leads to the study room. Because I didn’t kill the enemy from the previous room, it came through the vent, and attacked. When going through the next door, it’s another, but small hallway. The door to the right wont open, so player will have to use the one of the left, but 2 enemies fall from the vent from the ceiling. It’s best to avoid it, for it won’t follow you to the next door.
Now the next door will lead to the misty dining hall. The door from the opposite site is locked, but going to the door under the painting on the mid-floor is unlocked. Player MUST go in to collect Jill’s BSAA Bio Scanner. Also, there’s a custom parts for the handgun, which will upgrade its capacity from 10 to 12, and I think it also upgrades it’s firepower. Coming out from the room, player can scan around in the misty dining hall, and when after scanning, and collecting 2 grenades, an enemy will rise from the mist. Again, player can avoid it. Going upstairs, there’s a door. In that door is some kind of a small museum room, where it has some ancient vases. Now there are 3 enemies, including one new type of enemy, and it’s an enemy the player should really avoid or shoot it from far distant. This enemy will explode by itself when it touches Jill or after shooting 3 or 5 times with handgun. The enemy’s explosion will take around 75% of Jill’s health. Going to the next door will lead to another hallway. There’s another new type of enemy with two huge claws and small claws on its head (According to the developers, this is the 2nd stage of the enemy). After killing the enemy, elevator is the only door there, so player will have to enter.
Coming out from the elevator, Parker is waiting ahead. Player then has to follow Parker. When Jill and Parker arrive at the control/communication room, the tugboat Jill and Parker traveled with explodes and sinks. A man grabs Jill from behind, Parker points the gun at him, order him to drop the weapon. Jill manages to kick the man, and escaped from his grasp. “Drop yours, Parker”, a red-haired Russian man (Although with good English accent, there is a little of his Russian accent. Oh and also the man who shot the dart at Jill’s neck) orders Parker to drop his weapon. Parker is surprised by the man, knowing his name, he ask who he is. The Russian man quickly took the gun out and starts shooting them. Both Jill and Parker dodge the shooting, and the man escapes, locks the main control/communication room door. “Shit! Come on, he knows something!” Parker tries to open the door. Jill then said he might be the one who shot her with the dart, and dragged her to the room where she woke up. Jill then asks if he knows him, Parker paused when Jill asked that question, Parker denies. Parker then tries to contact the BSAA HQ, requesting backups, but somehow cannot reach to them. Jill believes it’s because of the storm, but Parker said somebody must have jacked the line.
Player then continues on the mission. Jill and Parker will have to find other way to get where the russian man escaped. There are 3 doors; 1 is the main door, which requires a card key, another door wont want to open, and the other where Jill and Parker came from. Player will then have to go back to the elevator, but before that, there’s a key on the table, which unlocks the locked door in the dining hall, and while going to that door, player will have to fight some enemies (apparently for the first time we see a female enemy). Entering in that locked door leads to another dining hall, but with an empty stage. The door on the right is locked, and the door on the left is the kitchen door. Player will have to go in the kitchen. There are 3 enemies eating 2 bodies, and one of the bodies (Actually, the body on the table) has the key to open the door outside the kitchen. After getting the key, the kitchen cold store’s door exploded, and 2 of those obesity enemies storms in. Since their really nearby, player will have to run around the table to be far away from them, and kill them. Going in the door where the enemies came from, there’s another file player can read. After coming out from the kitchen, player then will have to unlock the lobby, and the lobby will surprise you.
The lobby looks very similar to the mansion’s main hall from the first Resident Evil game. Jill then said this is main hall is very similar when she was in the 1998 mansion incident. The main entrance to the exterior area is locked. Parker then asks Jill if they both can separate to investigate different areas. “You remind me of someone.” A Jill smile, Parker smiled back and then nods, then enters the door opposite from where they came. Player will have to go upstairs, the door on the right is locked, so the player’s only choice is to enter the door on the left.
(End Of Chapter 1-2)
And that’s about it. It’s a pretty good lengthly survival horror game for a portable. Took me around 35 minutes to finish 2 sub-chapters of chapter 1. There are two more sub-chapter (one of them you play as Parker) of chapter 1. I wanted to continue, but they told me they want to save it for a surprise. They told me the whole chapter 2 is a flashback where player plays as Chris, 3 hours somewhere in a snowy seaport before the present setting of the game. They didn’t confirm how many chapters there will be, but mostly likely around 6 or 7 chapters, hopefully 7-9 hours main game. They didn’t tell me when the game is going to be available, though.
Let me talk about the enemies, all the enemies I mentioned are humanoid enemies, and there are 5 types so far I played.
- 1st stage male humanoid creature: The normal enemy with 1 big claw can be found in the demo.
- 1st stage female humanoid creature: Another normal enemy, but female, with small claws on the shoulder, and weaker than the male one.
- 2nd stage humanoid creature: The one with 2 large claws and small claws on its head. It takes twice the damages than the 1st stage one.
- Obesity humanoid creature: Something like a tumor, around the body about to explode. It has 2 small claws.
- Swimming humanoid creature: It’s physical appearance very similar to the 1st stage male humanoid creature, but can polute the water, and when swimming near at it, may quickly kill the player faster.
In Chris’s chapter, will feature completely new enemies, for the enemies in Jill’s situation in the cruise ship are infected with a virus with sea creatures’ resources and ingredients, that’s what they told me. They also told me that when you use the Bio-Scan on some specific enemies, some enemies will react differently, also will show the infectors inside their bodies (as if it shows their weak points). They told me they will reveal more, including the enemies’ names, “very soon”.
I really hope you understand this quick walkthrough. Sorry if my English isn’t good. I hope Capcom doesn’t find out soon. I will delete this post in a week.Last edited by Guest; 07-24-2011, 08:17 AM.

I don't think the guy is lying for his walkthrough (however we're not 100% sure), it seems to make sense with what we know about the game so far.
-he talks about Parker being playable during a small section. (Capcom said he will be playable)
-He talks about the swimming part and how he described it seems to fit with Capcom's declarations (it seems stressful, only 20 seconds before you run out of oxygen and you can be attack, one of the people at Capcom said there will be limitations during this phase and ennemies)
-Parker being important to the storyline and perhaps hiding something (his relation with the redhead man and Jill being suspicious about it : seems very likely)
-All the phases he described are accurate to the trailer and gameplay bits we saw on both E3 and Mercenaries demo.
-He even points to modifications made to the part of the mercenaries demo (guy on the chair not being there, Parker with Jill, no time mentionned at the beginning) It seems too precise to be made up.
Of course, there is still a doubt, but generally when people lie about these things, their walkthrough is made up of bullshit and fantasy. I don't see that here.

I'm glad he posted that. Capcom likes to take their sweet ass time giving us updates.

In fairness, a lot of the info we ended up with was dumped in the last few months before the game. We didn't hear much solid stuff before that. There were tales of Zombie Animals and horror themes for quite a while.
But yeah, please don't post the story in the trailers again Capcom. It's not likely to be good enough to sell the game and it'll just annoy people to find they've already seen most of the story's dramatic twists.

Originally posted by I_am_NemesisYou have to admit though, RE5 had some pretty epic trailers which im sad to say I got hyped up by.
Sadly, the game was fine, but far from being as epic as the trailer suggested.
