Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D

So, I see the other two threads, but why isn't there a discussion thread for this game yet.

Anyways, anyone else got this game? Anyone else got any opinions? I know reddit and most of the internets is raged over the save file, but does any one actually like the game? Personally, I love it. It's a great hand held game because you can pick it up and play a round and be done in 15 minutes or so. Once I had beaten RE5 all I did was play Mercs so even though some people call half of a game, its the half that I played more. There's a bunch of challenges which really make it fun and exciting. The ability to move and shoot changes the dynamic, and even though you don't need it, if you play the game focused on it, it really changes things up.

My only complaint is that they took out Rebecca's flame thrower melee.

I was planning on getting it second-hand from Gamestop in a couple of years, but if the save file can't be deleted, then I guess I'll have to get it new if it's still around.

That's what Capcom's expecting out of you. Frankly if some retailers pull it off the shelves or bring more attention to Capcom the matter might be solved shortly. Otherwise, wait till a price drop.

Been playing extensively since it came out. It has its flaws but it's still enjoyable regardless (this coming from a huge RE5 Mercs/Mercs Reunion fan).

In fact, Bertha and I are about to tear shit up.

Provided the servers start working properly and allow friend matches.

Any character of choice for the two of you?

If they include a director's cut down the road I may pick it up. We'll just have to see if the content is worth the buy compared to Revelations or other 3DS titles down the road.

Also since I'm curious to know does the game include any sort of credits or the like to look up VAs? More specifically who's voicing Jill and HUNK?

At the end of the fifth Mission Set (before the Extra missions) there are credits. I'll let you know when I get there, I'm at 5-3 of 5-4.

For the most part I use HUNK due to his fast instakill melees, he even beats out Wesker. Wesker's is faster but is not instakill; it can sprout plagas, whereas the two instakills that HUNK has do not.

For pure enjoyment I usually have HUNK with Rebecca's loadout or Claire with her own loadout.

I'm still partial to Krauser though...but Rebecca is adorable with her weak ass melees. Only real complaint is the online itself and not being able to invite or anything.

Yeah, although Nintendo has talked about possibly implementing messages in the future, like text to send to friends.

And yeah, Rebecca is still fun.

Okay, Edit time. Fun fact about Jamieson Price: according to Wiki, he's not only Noob Saibot from MK9, but the announcer as well. And the announcer in SSFIV. +internet internets.

Edit edit: Patricia Ja Lee's Wiki states her as voicing Jill in Revelations, too.

But like Bertha said... You can barely tell people apart because the sound quality is literally that bad.

Claire has a pistol, GL, and sniper rifle. chris has a pistol, shotgun and sniper rifle.

HUNK has some insane melee's, but I find Claire's to be the most technical- and fun -. If you push forward while she's performing User Combination (front, low) or One Hit High (front high), she will actually cancel her melee midway through. The ability to cancel melee is unique to Claire, you won't find this technique on other characters.

This can be crucial since knowing when to cancel properly to kill can save you precious seconds so valuable in a merc game. After testing in the lab and in my 1500+ hour RE5 Mercs hour count opinion: Claire w/ Chris's loadout & +5's in 1-2 second intervals > HUNKS default loadout & insta's.

Thanks again. Kind of makes me wonder how the most recent VAs for Jill and HUNK might possibly be replaced for Revelations. At least I was assuming that was HUNK speaking in the trailer when he was saying "Ms. Valentine".
