Plus anything else he may have developed seeing as it appeared he was one of the few people closest to work with Ozwell. The old nut didn't trust or keep any too near him, not even Albert or Birkin. Alex could of been working a dozen said projects for the old man.

Sort of leaves it open, but knowing the writers they'll likely contradict themselves with some over the top explanation that we'll all just sort of tilt our head but still consume for pure enjoyment. Why I love video games so much...heh
