BH2 Debug Beta - date?

Does anyone know the projected date the BH2 beta version which is pretty well-known, with the debug menu, was from?

I ask because I want to know the rough date for when they decided to completely scrap the "Clay Virus" from the series and re-write it as the "Progenitor Virus". It is in one of the files in the beta, but the file itself is changed drastically in the final version. http://projectumbrella.net/articles/P-Epsilon-Report

I'm writing the Development History column for the BIOHAZARD 2 article on Project Umbrella at the moment so this would help a lot, as well as for other articles.

On a side note, does anyone know the date the Biohazard 2 retail build was compiled? Assumingly it's not 1998-01-21.
