    1. Relationship with the ladies.

    2. The threads they wear.

    3. The training and kung-fu that they have when they're out killing zombies and foreign people.

    4. Their friends and rivals. And by rivals I mean friends that betrayed them.... Complicated shit like that homie.

    5. What they accomplished, dawg.

    That's a good start, yo.
I feel terrible having already cast my vote because reading the responses I can see where the logic would fall in Chris' favor. I obviously on impulse chose Leon as RE2 was my first real immersion into the RE world and he was the hero. (I was 12 at the time XD)

    1. Chris I think handles his relationships with the ladies with a sense of professionalism to a fault. I mean we'd all love to see some flirt or something else, but he always kept it focused and I guess if you imagine being that situation I'd rather have a focused gunmen on my back instead of the one tapping my rear jokingly.

Leon just infuriates me in this part. I'm not a fan of the pairing between Ada and Leon. It just sort of makes me mad how he doesn't have his head on straight. The woman has goals and well he's a doormat.

    2. Even with RE5 alternate costumes, Chris just couldn't fish something out that really gave a sense of style, but come now the man is worried about his next mission. I'll give this Leon, and he needs it because the threads are as important as the dreamy hair. It all creates character to make up for the other areas like handling ladies and their advances. I did rather enjoy his alternate looks in RE4

    3. I have a hard time with this because despite the overwhelming power and strength Chris has gained over the years, I still want to cite him and have him appear in court for steroid use. Leon's agility can be quite advantageous. Imagining him fighting Wesker for instances...wait...no not happening.

    4. This is Chris' win hands down. His story arch has defined the series for years. With Code Veronica there was this rush of fresh air with Wesker's return. The end battle between them was epic beyond any encounters in RE5, but that may be because there was this adrenaline rush of your main character getting his butt kicked in just the raw fashion and there was no explanation quite yet why Wesker was suddenly handing you your bum. Leon really hasn't had a real story to propel the series. It was the revamp of the gaming style and fundamental elements tweeked to change the classic horror into something more fast paced. That was Leon's contribution. I think he's given the series more in the film. I guess Leon is more for Hollywood...

    5. Chris has cracked on so many skulls and foiled the plans of dozens while starting up his own organization. He even saved his own sister. That...makes it personal and relates to the audience. Leon has saved a few people but almost shot said sister. Tsk tsk...I hand it to Chris also that he became the bane of a meglomaniac's existence. That is pretty hard to do since they see the world is underneath their boot anyways. To have a fly be that annoying for the nemesis of the series is a real task accomplished.

    'nuff said...too much...

I used to like Chris a lot when he was the whitebread (clean-cut) man-with-a-badge with the Jewish afro. But not so much after he got into steroids and powerbars. He basically became a fugitive from the WWE. Likes to hit boulders with his bare fists. And his hairstyle... Jesus... its crap. Its the "I've been hit with a pillow in the face" hairstyle made popular by the 'Friends' sitcom.

Now, I still like the new Chris though. I'm willing to give old 'fridge with a chia pet on top' a second chance with the upcoming Revelations. Lets see how that one turns out.

Leon, well... he's basically Jack Bauer & Jason Bourne rolled into one. The NEO-ninja metrosexual and who like Wesker, has an 80's haircut. He's Ada Wong's guilty pleasure. And the master of lame one liners (move aside Barry Burton). He's also the face of CHANGE that many like to hate for that very reason.

Playing as him in Mercenaries is crap. Don't like to use him in that mini-game. Starts with no hand grenades, the damn fool.

Anywhoo... I didn't vote... since I only vote for Jill Valentine.

What a cop out. Chris and Leon fight for your right to vote and you don't have the gall to pick one of them?

My vote goes to Leon. RE2 is my favourite of the older games, and he feels more likable to me. The introduction as a rookie cop sells better to me. Sure it's a cliché, but hardened special forces member is even more cliché.

Plus in Degeneration he sounds like such a suave fellow. Chris hasn't had the chance to do that yet. At least, I don't think so.

Suave indeed. Some say suave is his new middle name, or is it....

Just to get the girls squirming a bit...ah I can confirm that. At 12 years of age I was doing the squirm hoping for a zombie apocalypse just to have Leon show up and save me.

                Ah...little teen dreams.

...I wanted a zombie Apocolypse so most of my school could be eaten, and then I'd get to smash there faces in with a hammer.

                  Happy days.

I'm actually going to vote for Leon here. While I don't like how he acts in RE4, I enjoy him in RE2. Chris just bores me in all the games.

Chris wins for me, as he was my favorite character in RE1 and Code Veronica (I don't like him much in RE5, though)

Leon is boring in RE2 and I don't like him in RE4

For the love of god, this. Probably why I almost flunked math, actually. I spent most of the time daydreaming about how awesome I'd be when a bunch of zombies burst through the classroom door and started chewing on the kids I hated.

Only way sometimes one can get through the misery of school. Zombies just were just a cool method that we all seemed to think of long before it became "cool".

Though a cherry on top would be following said zombies adding a dash of some lickers or hunters just to add some flavor.

Another factor I think of when I want to choose between these two: choice of enemies. I've got a sweet spot for the hunters because they always...always got me when I had no ammo. (plus got one of the coolest cut scenes ever speaking original that is)

Lickers sort of...made me feel weird. Like they were the perverts of the BOW arsenal.

I dislike both characters honestly. I guess if I could choose one, it would be Leon. I guess it's because I show more emotion towards the character. Like, annoyance. When I play as Chris, I'm as stale as he is.

                          1. Leon obviously. When Resident Evil needs a subplot of romance, Leon to the rescue!

                          2. I prefer Chris's style, especially his civilian outfit: the Made in Heaven jacket with the tan jeans.

                          3. Tough one. If Chris were to have a certain fight with someone just like the Leon/Kauser fight, I would probably answer the question with ease. I think Leon could take him though.

                          4. Chris, I mean, he's feuding with the big bad of the series.

                          5. Chris again. One of the founding members of the BSAA. Big ol' accomplishment.

I have a question : what do you like most about both?

I've always thought that if Capcom mixed all the good things from both to create a new male protagonist, then he would be an ideal lead character.

What do I like about both?

With Chris it's easy and one of the reasons he's my favorite character. He's the one with personal ties to doing what he does throughout the series. The incident wiped out his STARS teammates that he's worked with for years and the chaos even involved his sister at a point. So his drive to fight bio-weapons has a lot at stake for him. I always believed the pressure of protecting the people he cares about made him prefer to do things on his own in RE1 and Code Veronica. One of the reasons why I think he left for Raccoon City without telling Claire his whereabouts and while Jill stayed behind. Of course that didn't work out for him, and those close to him were in danger during Raccoon City without his aide. Once Jill found him and they stopped Umbrella together it looked like the series was gearing towards co-op, but also allowing Chris to ease up and work with his partners. So having a strong partnership with Jill we come to the point where he loses her in RE5 and now he's a wreck. Even with a new partner Chris doesn't exactly warm up to Sheva until later in the game. And when it comes to the games where a rescue mission is involved I believe Chris' games have the advantage over Leon. Instead of saving some random or new character Chris is out to save his sister and then later his partner. Pretty epic moments and all involving Wesker, his greatest rival ever.

Now with Leon I really enjoy him in RE4 mostly because he takes everything with stride. Before he was a rookie swept into the madness, and by the end of RE2 he seems to ease into the type of character we see in RE4. Doesn't help when he says a cheesy one-liner as he blows up Mr. X..... "Game over." For better or worse the series also seems to have made him into the American Bond. He's working for his country to stop these whacky villains. Hunnigan passes off as his own personal Moneypenny to flirt around with. He has a cat and mouse relationship with Ada the spy whose loyalties remain ambiguous. Krauser is his 006, and while they used to be friends at one point Krauser goes off the path, fakes his own death and resurfaces only to be Leon's enemy. Also Leon usually finds himself with a girl at the end although unlike Bond there's not much romance involved. We know that Leon and Claire aren't exactly as close as we hoped. He turns down Ashley's offer. Manuella is a little too young for him. So far only Angela is shown to have a chance if Leon ever takes another "diving" experience with her.
