His explanation for the quality is due to his old way of editing videos, compression, and he used to use gif watermarks instead of just subtitles as well as new software he uses for the editing. All of his newer videos are in higher quality than his old ones and in some cases he re-uploaded old videos/footage in the higher quality. Doesn't necessarily mean it's stuff he just recently recorded.

      Ok, that makes sense.
Thanks for mentioning it, it definitely helps to prevent new rumors and conspiracies concerning this new video.

I guess I was not the only one who assumed the new video to be recently recorded despite what the Curator claimed...
Sorry about that, I didn't mean to cause another uproar, I was just pointing out a thought which came into my mind when I compared the quality of the two videos.

I am not all that much into PSX prototypes, apart from RE stuff, so I never bothered watching the majority of the PSM videos apart from a handful of videos of games I cared about...

      • Well, both those scenes where the zombies burst through the shutters are triggered by Leon, in one he has a hand gun, in the other he has a shot gun. I doubt the same scenario will activate twice in one playthrough as that's generally not how RE games work, at least that's not how RE1 works. Once the scene has been played out, it will be checked off either the scenario or common flag list (or both, even) and therefore wont and can not activate again; unless the zombies decided to burst through the shutters twice in one night, or Capcom has some programming errors, or Curator had access to flag menus. I'm not making any suggestions here, just posting my observations. Either way, I'm confident that the same capture device was used in both sets of footage, and that the earlier PSM video was compressed and then further butchered by Youtube.

        • If the first video "Unseen gameplay of Resident Evil 1.5" , has been made a lower quality for youtube, why doesn't curator upload it again in HD!

You won't believe the answer anyway, but the answer is he doesn't have the raw footage anymore. The footage in the recent video is all he managed to recover from his old hdd, according to him.
