RE2 ended with the fate of the outbreak unknown. RE3 concluded with its destruction that many later RE titles would go over as well. But this was the game that started it. Also gave us epilogues that confirmed the status of all the major players at that time.

On a side note this was the first game to create a minigame with the mercenaries brand name instead of a battle mode.

The story is weak, but the game play is effective. It recycles RE2 elements, but improves upon them. This is why Nemesis is more recognized than Mr. X for example. Because he plays his stalker with full force.

That if Jill and Nemesis are in ORC, then Jill can die.

We don't know if the tyrant we see in ORC is the same tyrant seen in RE2. I recall there being six of them on that chopper, and only one chased after the RE2 protagonists. I believe the other five ended up battling with the US Army at the dead factory.
                  Mass production? Ridiculous!

RE3 is probably the best Jill Valentine game outside of REmake.

If you're not going to have a strong story then you better have the game play to back it up. RE4 pretty much succeeds there as far as the new games are concerned.

But RE3 had a lot to offer for the classic game play. For starters I no longer needed to button prompt my way up any stairs like I still had to do with Code Veronica. The dodge mechanics were sharp. Unlike RE1 and RE2 the 180 turn finally paves way to make the tank controls feel fluid for your character. The quick time events for RE3 also offered a range of options on how to play the game. You actually had to make decisions for Jill under extreme situations that lead you to different outcomes.

I'd argue that RE3 has better controls out of games like Silent Hill, Dino Crisis, and Resident Evil 1 & 2 as far as the playstation was concerned.

I think rehunk88 meant that it's the same type of Tyrant (T-103), but not necessarily the same we encounter while playing as Leon or Claire. It's probably one the various that were thrown from the helicopters, as you say.

I especially like how the ammo system lets you choose how you fight, you can go for mass amounts of basic handgun/shotgun ammo and get enhanced versions later, or instead go for more powerful stuff like grenade rounds of varying types, or Magnum. Or mix it up with a bit of both.

The only other survival horror game with an ammo system I liked as much was Dino Crisis, where you're given items that can be used to make (or improve) healing items or if you want instead make lethal (or more powerful) ammo.

you find three dead ones in the final room... where you fight the final nemmy mutation. Two still in their coats and one with the claws. Where the other two went that were left.... who knows.

I love all the main RE games equally, so no. RE3 for me is not filler. In fact, it is quite possibly my second fave RE game after REmake! If any game in the whole series could even be considered "filler" then it'd probably have to be RE Zero, because besides having Rebecca and Wesker (in a small role), it's more of the same, really...
