Sergei could return at some point, there's no reason why he couldn't show up prior to 2003. I'm still hoping that he'll turn up in ORC.
    See you in hell.

That would make too much sense!

Like Segei, they gave him some history in the series to make him more important than just some new guy never involved with anything, but then kill him and we will likely not hear of him again.
I dunno about that. I thought I had seen the last of Steve until DSC came along and actually made him likeable. I thought that was impossible.

Anyway, they will probably revisit Sergei and some other characters (like Spencer, he died like a punk in RE5) in future games.... especially if the new ones fail to get any love (remember Sheva in Mercenaries 3D?)

He didn't really get a new appearance though since it was just retreading CV, if you can call it retreading, in the same way bigfoot would retread a snakes trail in the sand.

This! I'm tired of these interesting characters, usually villains, that show up for one game and than get killed or drop off the face of the planet.. I'm also tired of the same main characters being rotated and rotated.. (I want Billy back, damn it!..)

Nicholai didn't die, did he? I always kill him whenever I'm playing RE3. Cant' stand the MOFO.

I think Capcom should explain how Rebecca fell from the face of the Earth after RE1... and how she looked like she was still 18 in RE5.

Because she was still 18 in Mercenaries, it's not canon. She was portrayed with the same age and outift from RE1, the mini-bio in the menu shows that.

It's canon that Nicholai lives, there's a file written by him in Survivor.

I know, it's just that she is suppose to be 28 around the time RE5 takes place and they still insist in showing her as a wimpy 18 year old.

I'm just complaining that Capcom went lazy again on us and didn't update her character model.

It isn't written by him. In the original Japanese, the last part of that file is written by a "B.O.W. Development Staff".

And then there's the ending sequence from Outbreak.

Nicholai also writes a letter to Sergei a bit before the Umbrella's End scenario in Umbrella Chronicles. He survived.
Revelations has a plot with twists everywhere. Way to go, Capcom, you successfully pulled off a mind-screw plotline.

Nah, that was back in the 1990s. Before Raccoon City.
