So it's fake or not?
FUCKING TRAILERS HOW DO THEY WORK?
I've seen crappier trailers.
Duke Nukem anyone?

That trailer doesn't give much away. I kinda like the idea that the world is heading towards a full blown zombie Apocalypse...even Anderson was smart enough to twig that the outbreak in Raccoon City couldn't be contained (although too dumb to do anything even remotely sensible with it) and that in some abandoned, snow bound semi-functional Umbrella lab there is an answer.
They're starting off with the usual attempts at horror build up, but that is NOT a reason to be excited. They did that with RE4, RE5, Darkside Chronicles...etc. The only one they didn't try it for was Mercs. We're gonna need some gameplay to have any idea of what's actually going to happen, and that will be in several months time knowing Capcom. E3 next year maybe?
I'm also calling utter bullshit to the idea that Revelations will be essential to understanding RE6. Really? A side game on a low selling handheld will be totally and utterly vital to understanding the plot of a game you're almost certainly putting on the PS3/360, or maybe even there next generation counterparts? A game that's likely to be released a year, maybe two, after Revelations so anyone who does want a copy can go get one second hand and not earning you a penny? Does that make sense to anyone?
Especially since you didn't even need to play a previous RE game to understand what was happening in Five, a game that essentially finished the ongoing storyline woven across...what? Four, five games? RE1, RE3, CODE: Veronica, Umbrella Chronicles...you could possibly add in a couple more there, such as RE2 and RE4 if you felt like it. I cannot imagine Capcom weaving so intricate a story in any of there games that you need to play a previous game to understand it.
At best, I imagine they're going to be introducing the big bad. Chris and Jill can't fail and allow the virus to be unleashed, causing the quasi-apocalypse - it would be mentioned in RE5 if they'd fucked up on that scale. Possibly they allow someone to escape with samples, or allow the guy in control to get away, but that's about it.

Contacted for further information, however, representatives from Capcom USA later informed Kotaku that they "could not comment on rumours or speculation". Those "rumors" being the trailer in question.
That contradiction makes me tickle with interest.
Let the speculation begin!Last edited by Beanovsky Durst; 09-16-2011, 05:35 AM.

Originally posted by GamespotBogus or Not Bogus?: [Update] Bogus. GameSpot sat through the entire presentation at the Tokyo Game Show and there was no mention of Biohazard 6. There is, however, a special BioHazard 15th Anniversary presentation being held at the Capcom stage tomorrow at 3.10pm local time, where a "secret guest" has been listed as appearing...
Can't wait for tomorrow's Biohazard 15th anniversary event, in any case we will know more about it tomorrow. Wondering who that "secret guest" is? I'm still holding my fingers crossed on the teaser that it's real, otherwise it's a cleverly made one by a troll.Last edited by Weils; 09-16-2011, 06:21 AM.

Mikami would be nice to see... After all BIOHAZARD it's his baby, lol.
But more awesome would be him taking RE6 as director... not gonna happen, i know, but i can dream right?

What's strange here is that a Capcom Japan representative confirmed with Kotaku and its Japanese counterpart that the teaser trailer's real despite "multiple sources" from Capcom saying that it's not. Kotaku would be putting its credibility on the line since they put that above statement. And with Gamespot confirming the trailer was never there in the closed theater with the rest of Capcom's upcoming games line-up, the rumor seems all but dead, or is it?

Mikami's moved on and so should we.
Resident Evil is sick, it's dying. All these new directors and spin-off titles, they're like life support for a dying old woman. But the truth is, she's been dead a long time and none of us have realised that fact. We still cling on to life, that little fading glimmer of hope that one day the series will be back to how it was.
But it never will be.See you in hell.
