ok so tomorrow at 3:00 pm tokyo time (which in the states is when im asleep in CT) some sort of announcement with a special guest...who's thinking the special guest is paul anderson there to rape a chris redfield cosplayer?
I think this has been awesome how the guy did all this to get the fans spinning around. Just think though, he's actually done some good to get some forums being active to talk about Resident Evil for a while. That person gets my hats off to him. He's done a good deed.
"I'm kinda wondering if it isn't Capcom themselves who made the trailer, even if it's fake, to drum up some interest in this."
lol the amount of bashing Capcom has been getting is hilarious! They're not doing that well these days are they? I don't remember them ever getting THIS much bashing before.
Did you see all the fans they pissed off when they cancelled the Megaman Legends 3 Project?
In my defense, I'm totally right. You think Cpacom would have gotten this much coverage with Anderson and a 'Please buy our new games' message spread over a couple of hours? It's less bashing and more wondering just how much coke the upper echelons of Capcom are snorting off rent boys dicks for this to be a sensible move.
I don't actually mind them not showing RE6. Not that much, anyway. As others have pointed out , Revelations and ORC are coming and RE6 would over shadow both fairly massively. That doesn't mean they needed to have a show so weak that they had Anderson prancing around telling everyone his Mercs store as the super secret special guest, though. As I understand it they barely showed ORC at all, and while that is a far more westernized game it certainly isn't any worse than Anderson. Also, people might have given a crap for it.
So, basically, when Capcom stops doing stupid shit we'll stop taking the piss.
I don't think Capcom has ever step forward and calling it real. It was only relyonhorror and Kotaku all along who calls it real, and claims to have Capcom Japn contact, when in actual fact I dont think they have.
Capcom Europe and USA don't speak to reH, Capcom Japan would quite equally tell them to bollocks. But it has drummed up more views for reH, which was probably the intention all along.
Capcom did came forward and stated that the trailer was fake. The latest picture came out on the internet just moment ago, and it was pointless for Capcom to deny that one because they were going to show the last bit of RE-related stuffs at TGS soon. That is enough to serve to call the picture a fake.
That guy did planted many fail-proof measures though, such as using a different nick to post that teaser. He was hoping that the teaser didn't get exposed as a fake by Capcom but if it did, he can pull off a fast one by calling it a fake too, implying that there's someone else giving out fake info and that HE is the one who holds the real information, when both are actually he himself. Creating a 2nd identity and using the first one to call that a faker adds more credit and believability to himself, and he did successfully fooled almost everyone.
He can't make a trailer because he's afraid it will shows more signs of fake (and neither have the skills probably), so he make a quick glimpse at something and make it as if Capcom is trying to be mysterious. Hiding in a Veltro logo in it, because he know everyone's going to scrutinize that teaser, and many people walked into his trap. It was I believe what you call an "icing on the cake".
The lack of confirmation from major gaming sites on that leaked RE6 comic-con picture was probably the reason why I was skeptical the entire time. Only a well-verse gamer who know how the RE and game community works can pull off such trolling.
You make him out to be some crafty genius, most people on the net are dumb enough to believe any old tripe that is posted, especially when they want it to be true also. Simple as that.

but trust me this wont happend again.. not after this little shit stunt.
I find it funny the amount of negativity directed at Capcom. Just take a look at half the posts in this thread. Have you guys noticed that you can't have the word "Capcom" in a sentence without it being directed to something negative? lol
Most of the 'bashing' you quote on your post is not really bashing at all. Just people mentioning the company as being responsible for doing this or that or not showing something. Basically, the big C is not making their consumers happy. You find that hilarious? Ok.
But some of the negativity is justified. For example, have YOU notice how much Capcom fucks things up lately? I think you have noticed:
Did you see all the fans they pissed off when they cancelled the Megaman Legends 3 Project?
(Megaman) Fans got even more pissed at CAPCOM after they read this recent interview with Inafune. Where he himself explains how the whole thing went down:
INAFUNE: "So, I told [Capcom] that I was going to found my own independent company and leave Capcom," Inafune told 4gamer.net. "However, I stated that I was ready to make a contract with them so that I could keep working on those projects that I started (including Mega Man Legends 3). I couldn't start making contracts with other publishers for sure if Capcom agreed to the proposition, but I wanted to see those projects that I started to completion. But it couldn't be done. (Capcom) answered, 'we have no need to do that.'"
Infaune continued to explain to 4gamer.net that he began to organize his time, get his team together and plan out the continued development of Mega Man Legends 3, but it was all for naught. "I really don't want to quit [the development of Legends 3] at this crucial moment," he explained, "but I can't keep going at Capcom. I am too tired to keep going. I wanted to leave Capcom to recharge my energy and support Capcom [from outside of the company], but it seems they don't allow it. I want to make all of my effort to keep Legends 3 alive, but I'm really not sure I can do it (without Capcom's support)."
Stuff to remember: Avoid forums if you're having a bad day.

I'm still not sure how to take all these recent comments from Inafune regarding the "suits" at Capcom. I mean, he himself was a suit when he worked there.
I still remember the rather choice words he had regarding Clover Studio. For someone who left the company, because he felt it was stifling his creativity, he didn't seem to have a problem with the dissolution of what was arguably the most creative studio in the whole company, simply because their games weren't making money.

I think once you see the difference between being a 'suit' that is expected to be nothing but a salary man (working merely for money and not much else) and a suit that prides himself/herself as a 'game creator', you'll come to understand why Inafune, Mikami and others big C devs that considered themselves anything but salary men, got tired of how things went down at said company ever since 2003. When Capcom did that whole financial overhaul thing. In fact, in one of their financial reports, they expected to lose important/vital employees because of the changes they were going to make. And look, it happened.
Other companies that work for money, still manage to go out of their way to respect their 'game creators'. And that's why Nintendo still has Miyamoto & Aonuma and why Konami still has Kojima.
