Co-op for me isn't scary, it's intense sure, but far from scary. Personally I find the silence more scary than the constant flow of gory action, there's something about the unknown and not knowing what's coming next that really gets my heart going. This is what I didn't like about RE5 (and to some extent RE4), there was just hordes of zombies coming after you (now there's nothing wrong with hordes of zombies!) with what seemes almost unlimited amo for you to blast out the end of the barrel, and when you have another person there with you it dilutes the suspense. Personally I preffer the survival elements of earlier games better, with limited ammo you know that if you make wrong decisions that you're going to have to pay for them later, and that really creates a sense of fear for me.
If RE6 has as much atmosphere as the likes of Remake, and doesn't have so much action that I forget to soak it all in, then I'll be happy. If RE6 is just some waste land like RE5, with walls of zombies and so much ammo you can't fit it all in your pockets, I'm going to be pretty dissapointed. Knowing Capcom these days, expect the latter.
