  • Ready for a Biohazard 6 teaser?

Let's take a brief recap at the teasers for the last two Biohazard games.

    Biohazard 4 teaser

    Biohazard 4 teaser 2

    Biohazard 5 teaser
    Biohazard 5 teaser 2

We never did have Leon going to Umbrella's main HQ in RE4. RE5 before co-op was tacked on for Chris' adventure.

Whatever they unveil for RE6 should be taken at face value. Capcom still runs great risk of changing anything during the course of its development. Scrapping new mechanics they talk about or adding a different plot altogether. That's the main problem with people's anticipation for this game at TGS.

Frankly I would wait until they had something concrete to offer alongside a release date to stick to. Part of me doesn't want them to show anything at TGS. But if they want to keep excitement among the fans they'll tease or release things beforehand. This is merely a reminder to not let your inner fan get the better of you.

I won't say that RE4 was changed for the better or worse -- because I'm still unsure how the hallucination version would have come across to us. However, RE5 was clearly a better concept early on than what it became.

I too, am taking what we get, if anything, with a grain of salt.

One of the early Bio 4 versions went too far into Scooby-Doo territory, IMO. With the whole haunted house/ghost/poltergeist deal. Silent Hill meets Resident Evil.

And I liked the early version of RE5 when it was just Chris doing his thang. Not dragging that corpse named Sheva around. There was also some talk about Chris being affected by sunlight and the weather (temperature).

The fake RE6 trailer seems to deal with the same concept of "bio-weapons being used or spread by terrorist organizations" that RE4 started. So if real, the reboot will not be a complete one.

That reboot Capcom was talking about, was about gameplay, not about story or characters.

After all this time I think it's just become part of being a biohazard fan. Getting excited for rumors, getting excited for teasers that change, waiting for any new screenshot that comes out. Hating the films but seeing them anyway (sometimes 2 times). There's definitely a culture here wether or not all aspects are particularly enjoyable we've been dealing with it for a long time. I'm 27 now, been following the series from the start and still sit get excited as fuck just to see a new logo for the numbered games.

RE4 was amazing, but it was not a resident evil game. i love the game but not as a resident evil fan.

Well I remember reading about RE6 being a full/complete reboot. There was a hint that maybe the gameplay was involved in that. But I don't remember reading that the classic story and characters were off-limits in that proposed overhaul.

If you got a source that says exactly what you're saying, please share it. I'll love to take a peek at it.

I disagree and will always disagree, but nevertheless we can't honestly say the Hookman version was better than RE4. We simply don't know enough. As much as the supernatural horror atmosphere appeals to me, I'm not confident it would have been a great Resident Evil game.

I never had internet at the time, so I never got to see the second RE5 teaser.

But now that I have....I'm much more upset with what I got.

All the early talks of a "reboot" were always in regards to gameplay and comparing it to RE4's reboot. Likewise, they'd have dropped the "6" and probably re-imagined the franchise or characters in REVELATIONS beforehand if they were planning a series reboot (as a sequel to 5 has been discussed long before 3DS was announced).

Resident Evil 4's first trailer (version) was promising. Leon is being chased by... Uroboros? That would've been nice.

RE5 teaser gave a pretty spot on idea of the final game as a whole. All of RE5s trailers did. Some small differences in older ones like dodge abilties or enemy count, co-op obviously, but still I had no doubt what I was buying with RE5.
