  • That's what I like about Japanese games & their makers... they can sometimes get really obsessed with something and they actually base a whole game on that weird thing that they care about.

That's how Shigeru Miyamoto came up with the Pikmin games and WiiFit. He loved doing some gardening and also watching his weight after hitting 50.

Anyway, aris13 posted some interesting news about Revelations today. Here's a sum of it:

    Resident Evil: Revelations

    - introduced at the Nintendo retailer briefing event by producer Masachika Kawata
    - not a light or simple entry in the series
    - staff includes many members of the staff that worked on Resident Evil 5
    - team aimed for a level of completion that matches that of the main numbered games
    - over 10 hours play time just to clear the main game
    - beat the game to unlock Raid Mode
    - this gives you access to characters like Jessica and Obrian
    - those two are not playable in the main game

Also, T-Abyss sounds kind of dumb in itself, just imo. If it turns people into watery aliens, I'm all for it though.

      • Mastrontonio's character was one hard bitch in that movie... and proud of it.

I'm getting a Barry Burton vibe from Parker's apparent lust for his weapon of choice...

If Parker says "I have THIS," I'll start cracking up. (I still crack up while playing Deadly Silence by that point.) The voice actor for Parker is quite good and all, but nobody could manage to pull off that line without it being ridiculously cheesy.
Revelations has a plot with twists everywhere. Way to go, Capcom, you successfully pulled off a mind-screw plotline.

          • Its been kinda slow in terms of Revelations news, but CVG posted a brief preview on their site: Resident Evil Revelations: Kill zombies score points & buy guns/

            Weapons and their respective upgrades...

Capcom showed us a standard pistol given to you at the beginning of the game, then one that had been upgraded with unlocks. They transformed it from a flimsy pea-shooter into a head-popping device of death. Building your arsenal, and chasing those elusive S rankings, is Raid mode's reason for being, and it seems like a fun and addictive aside to the single-player story
            About the enemies...

To make things harder, enemies have different parameters applied to them. If one has a fist icon above its head, that means it's tough and aggressive. A shield icon means it will take a lot of hits to kill. It's an interesting system, forcing you to constantly rethink your tactics.
            Raid Mode impressions...

It was tense and entertaining but having another player there didn't really add anything to the experience. If anything it actually made it more clumsy because we found we kept getting separated. Raid mode, it seems, is better as a single-player experience, although we only tried one map. It could fare better in more open levels.

            • This whole preview is about Raid Mode and it sounds like a lot of fun to me.

              • Capcom is going to release its first demo on the 3DS's eShop. Its a Monster Hunter 3G demo, though.

However, this goes with what Capcom-Unity's Sven said recently about them considering releasing a Revelations demo. The only thing holding them back was Nintendo. But it seems like they were able to work things out and now demos are gonna be coming out.

The thing about these demos is that they self-destruct after 30 days or after you play them 30 times (which ever happens first).

About the MH 3G demo, there was no date given when it will show up on eShop.

                • So Vester's organization (the one Parker and Jessica also formerly belonged to) is called the "FBC".

Any guesses as to what it stands for? haha

                      Federal Biohazard Commission?

If it was a government entity, it might explain why Parker and Jessica would want to move to an organization that, presumably, involves less red tape, especially after the incident on Terragrigia.

                      • I knew it! The FEDS are involved! I bet Vester is working directly under Barack Hussein Obama's orders. No wonder he has red hair! He's a commie!!!!

I kid... I just miss that ideologue that used to amuse me with his wacky conspiracies.

Nah, I got some news to share...

The Nintendo Power December issue features a preview of Resident Evil: Revelations

                        • The "FBC" is the "Federal Bioterrorism Commission".

The anti-bioterrorism unit which the United States formed in order to oppose the threat of bio-weapons which circulated on the market after the collapse of Umbrella.

                              • Capcom-Unity posted a Resident Evil: Revelations Casting Call with Quint and Keith:

In Resident Evil Revelations' RAID MODE, you and a friend will be able to team up and take on all manner of freaky-deaky B.O.W., scoring points that earn you upgrades for characters in weapons. Speaking of characters, you'll be able to take control of a whole bunch of 'em! Let's introduce two more...
                                They also included new screens:
