Totally didn't care, really stupid of them to reveal such a thing though.

Yeah, it does seem to be very similar to the one used in the Metroid Prime trilogy.

But I wished it was more like it, though. Like giving you info on the enemy and keeping all the information in a log book. That info was helpful since they gave you hints about their weak points.

Plus trying to scan all the enemies/life-forms (including Bosses) in the game was also an extra challenge. Almost like collecting Pokemon.

I loved that shit, you go scanning everything you can, even if you don't need to. I remember not getting a 100% scans in the first Prime because I didn't scan the Ice Shriekbat, which looks like a normal Shriekbat but lives on the ice and it's a one time only chance.

          • I agree with everyone who is praising Metroid Prime's scanning system. It added so much more depth to the Metroid series, being able to read about all the enemies Samus has faced over the years. I too wish Revelation's scanner was like that, but it seems to be just a cheap way to add a semi-detective element to the game without any real depth.
            Mass production? Ridiculous!

            • The demo for this game makes me go cross-eyed.

              I am not joking.

That happened to Kotaku's Brian Crecente the first time he tried a 3DS. He made the mistake of holding the system too far or too close to his face/eyes. He got the hang of it, later on.

Anyway... have you tried adjusting the 3D effect with the 3D-switch or within the game's options menu? There an option there to adjust the effect.

I didn't need to fool around with it, though. I already know how to handle that mean 3D effect. Holding the system not too close or too far away.

I know what you mean. The 3D will be off when I play the game on release day.

                    • The 3DS's 3D effect doesn't bother me in the slightest - but if I set the demo to VERY STRONG. I can't focus on it at all, my right eye sees ghosting which completely ruins the image and gives me massive eye strain.

                      • I only have that problem when I set the 3D slider all the way up, and turn the in-game 3D adjuster to "Very Strong." Obviously I won't be doing that again. But man, what a weird sensation.

                        • That was weird. "Strong" was already enough depth. Adding more and I think a portal almost opened in my 3DS.

                          • The thing is - my eye sight is pretty good, but anyone who's got the demo - put the game on very strong 3D effect, with the slider all the way up and close your left eye. Do you see the same ghosting I do, it's not excessive but everything kind of has an echo for me, albeit very faint. ONLY for my right eye though.

                            • It's because there are basically two images being projected to create the 3D effect.

At least I think that's how it works.

                              • In Very strong you only have to move your head for the slightest fraction for everything to become distorted. Can't see anyone managing to remain completely still for two or three hours when they play through it.
