  • lol The laser sight is coming as DLC, hahaha .. no not really but it wouldn't surprise me if it was. I mean just think about it for a minute - 'Resident Evil: Revelations Classic Laser Sight - 500 ms points - Increase your gameplay experience with added accuracy using this classic laser sight!'

My guess is Capcom removed the sight to give the game more of an auto aim or on-rails feel.. because God forbid if the general population of this younger gen. of whiny console gamers actually has to.. gasp .. aim manually and use skill to get through a game.

It also seems an odd choice to remove Hell mode. I mean it seems like there's not gonna be much wiggle room in between when it comes to transitioning to the Inferno difficulty. Leaving Hell in would've made that transition easier for players wanting to do so.

Well anyway i'm glad I have the 3DS version.

      No idea on post-game.
I have no clue eithier but it's not likely, there probably would have been a trophy/achievement for it.

      • Whats weird is that Laser Colour is in the options menu - you can change it to Red, Green or Blue - obviously this is useless as the game used crosshairs LOL

And no Hell mode - I guess Infernal pretty much replaces that. Yep - no upgraded stuff at all. 1st playthrough of the HD port on Infernal - got upto Rachael first boss encounter but the games been impossible with me running out of ammo constantly - took me ages to kill the scagdead boss to get his key

        • The problem is pretty clear to me now, the cross hair is too far to the right and the characters line of sight is too far to the left. As you move around the environment you're holding forward to run and heading in a straight line, but as you go to aim you are never in the right line of sight because the cross hair represents the center of the screen NOT the direction the player is facing. So in order to play this game properly you have to constantly make sure that you're running with the center of the screen facing forward so that when you need to aim you're facing in the right direction and can make a quick clean shot. However the consequence of this is that you're never running in a straight line and always drifting off to the left which you have to compensate with strafe.

            • I am on my third play through now. I beat the story twice on Normal to get level 4 parts for all my guns, so now I started a New Game + on infernal. Holy crap man.. my guns aren't doing anything to the enemies.. I feel so weak..

Also if anyone has the Wii U version, my Nintendo Network ID is SaiyanElite87. Lets play some raid mode!

              • So no Hell difficulty, that`s odd. Since Normal is pretty easy and Inferno looks like a pain in the ass, it`s probably a huge gap from normal to inferno without nothing inbetween.

Me too, really liked those two characters, Raymond is a very enigmatic good-bad guy.

                • Yes Infernal is a massive leap over Normal mode. I've already beaten Normal mode without using many herbs, but that was on my second playthrough. All my guns have Damage 5 and Damage 6. I recommend you play through Normal mode twice to get multiple good parts before entering Infernal mode. Even with my Godly upgrades I feel weak.

I would love to see Parker again--as well as O'brian, I mean Raymond.

                    • aaah, I think I fucked it. I played normal once and got the trophy for not dying once, which was cool, but then I started new game + in inferno and now I am reading that I should play normal again. Damn how do I do that if I already started inferno? Can I still start new game + on normal for my second playthrough? Does anybody now howmany upgrades there are? Since many of you have mentioned that you have Damage 5. I don't like what I'm reading about Inferno. It seems like it's gonna be impossible to play. Does anybody have an idea on how to manage that? Also, how do we get the funny costumes? I got pretty lame ones after my first playthrough.

                      • You should be able to start new game again (it will delete your actual check point and chapter completion data).
The amount of upgrades is huge and you can play normal more than once to collect more great upgrades like Damage 5 (+80%) or Damage 6 (+100%), however, the top upgrade pieces can only be obtained in Inferno (Hell on 3DS), where you can find, as example, Damage 7 (+150% damage). And probably there are some exclusive upgrades that didn`t appear in the 3DS version.
Anyway, upgrades are only for Jill, you`ll still have to deal with crappy weapons when playing non-Jill chapters, so good luck against Hunters in Terragrigia.

                        • I've heard rumours of a Damage 8 (+200%), but nothing concrete. If true, then it's a game changer. Right now all my guns have +5 parts and some Legendary parts, such as Reloader 2 and Burst 6. Burst 5 is perfect for handguns IMO. But Long Magazine 7 is a must in that case.

                          • Playing Infernal difficulty first time around! Yeah! I'm a masochist!

I got to say, Chapter 1 has to be the hardest chapter of the whole thing...since you only have the pistol, unlike the demo where you have the MP5! Surprisingly, made it out without dying.

One thing Infernal difficulty encourages is to NOT kill ALL the enemies MOST OF THE TIME & get S-ranks since your grade is based solely on 'Accuracy', 'Deaths' & (Maybe) 'Time'.

Melee'ing is crucial! I've never did figure out on how to set up Melee attacks on the 3DS version, until I played the PS3 version on this insane difficulty....hit both arms until they start flailing to incapacitate an Ooze monster for a Melee attack.

Later on, after you get the Shotgun, start using upgrades & get more ammo...you can start being more trigger happy.

Also, I noticed 'Infernal' difficulty encourages you to play it on 'New Game+' because, if you don't, you'll be picking up a lot of ammo of weapons you don't get until Chapter 3 & 4....making Handgun ammo very scarce! Once you do pick up those weapons, the sense of power is GRAND!

                            Loving the sense of 'Survival'!

                            • Indeed infernal is nice. It's even better once you get +6 parts. Man though, the Wall Blisters are easy and die with a couple blasts from a shotgun. I'd hoped they would be much harder.

I like the new layout to the controls. Use R to use the knife, ZR to toss a nade. This is a much better control scheme than the 3DS version. No man manual switching to grenades or knife. The game flows easier. You also don't have to fumble through controls to find your nades.

I also find my self meleeing a lot more as the button is right there. Pop and enemy, toss a nade, knife them, then melee others when they are downed. That is really nice. Great job CAPCOM!

Agreed. Even on infernal mode it seems like two blasts to the chest with the shotgun puts them down. I've barely even seen these "new exclusive" creatures in action over the course of two playthroughs because they're usually dead as soon as they touch the ground lol. At least they look cool.
