Making your organization comprised of HUNKs only creates confusion and speculation. Just like how people saw a blonde woman in a test tube and screamed "Sherry Birkin" despite the narrative making less sense to have her involved in Chris' story.

But "Veltro" is HUNK. Make no mistake about that.
Veltro is a jingoistic terrorist group established by college students from some European country. How are they comprised of HUNKs, other than the fact that they wear gas masks?

I doubt HUNK will be in the game in any way. Same with the "zombie" and the Spencer Mansion/Estate main hall replica and the LiN uniforms for Chris and Jill. They were placeholders. The only thing that has been carried over from the first trailer, so far, is chair dude. The story was not finished at the time of that trailer.

    • HUNK has terrorized, been to Europe, and went to college. Still wanna argue Veltro isn't HUNK?

I'll give you that one, but it's just a flashback.

          • I always wondered about HUNKs schooldays. Does working for Umbrella offer any kind of scholarship program or do they outright pull you into their courses paying your way through school?

You have to think that the more effort and work you put in for the company then the more benefits you get in their programs. I'd kill to witness a lecture from Dr. Marcus or training camp from HUNK. Just to see their ROTC program or learn how to work under the best interests of the corporation. Is this how they build up potential candidates for the U.S.S.?

            • I think Capcom's been pretty clear on which characters are going to have a impact in the game's plot, if a new character shows up or a old one returns I think it'll be something like Wesker in Assingment Ada.

              • "Here are some new scans of Capcom's [Biohazard] Resident Evil: Revelations, showing the various zombies infected with the t-Abyss virus, including Rachel who were killed by other t-Abyss monsters."

Given the dialogue in the Gamer's Day Trailer that O'Brian says during this shot, and given the outfits the two in front of him are wearing (Jill and Parker's different costumes), it's just after the BSAA finds out that Chris and Jessica have disappeared. (Note that his lips synch up with his dialogue during the trailer.):

I'm guessing they changed into the wetsuits for the mission.

Revelations has a plot with twists everywhere. Way to go, Capcom, you successfully pulled off a mind-screw plotline.

                    • I think the game informer review I read made me chuckle a bit. The story is supposed to be amazing, but he also claims it takes place AFTER RE5. The reviewer also goes on to call Quint and Keith the worst characters in the history of the series. I don't think the "after" part was a typo. He looks to have genuinely thought that while playing the game which tells me that this entry is likely separate from most ties to the previous game beyond a few returning characters. So it's less of a bridge between gaps and more like its own story. Having said that, what "Revelations" they could offer might just be contained to the story of the game and have little impact on the main series.

So I think I can break down the game play into the following. RE4/RE5 game play with less ammo and smoother movement. The smooth controls are basically a catch up to most third person shooters already released since RE4. The scarce ammunition is their way of saying the game is back to survival horror. But they've implemented dodge and melee attacks to allow you to get by.

The enemy variety was said to be low though. So I take it that I shouldn't expect too many creatures besides a few that we have yet to see in the trailers. The bulk of monsters are T-Abyss variants, and they can be pretty chilling depending on how the game uses them.

From what I understand the game is primarily Jill focused which is good since a female lead is needed for the game series after RE4 and RE5 played on the action hero approach. Most Jill chapters end in a cliffhanger and set up a side adventure with a male character that is supposed to be action oriented from what I've read. Based on promotional spots I'd pin that as Chris and Parker going through run and gun segments be it a mountain full of infected wolves or the attack on Terragritiwhatever.

Raid Mode is the escape from survival horror giving you all the elements of action and score keeping. It also has the bigger variety of player characters.

Both main game and raid mode allow you to unlock and customize weapons.

All in all the game looks to have a lot of content packed in. I'm not sold on it being a return to form or even a survival horror game in the traditional sense. It still feels more like RE4 than RE1. That's not a bad thing. RE4 was a fun game with a lot of content and some scary bits to it.

At this rate I should approach the game on that notion because if I expect it to be like the actual classics I'm just setting myself up for disappointment. But out of everything we know thus far I'm more excited about the main campaign. The review claims this story is coherent and well done which is something even the original RE games lacked. I'll wait to be the judge of that myself. I don't hold RE in high regard for having good stories. Likeable characters, creepy environments, scary monsters and a set up that places an emphasis on horror are what I look at. Revelations might just accomplish all of that and have a good plot in the thick of it. A shame I have to wait till March just to play it.

                      • Another preview of Revelations came out today. From a gaming site from Spain (ole!).

                        Here are some highlights:

                        1. Some of the recaps before each episode can be quite lengthy. Like a minute and a half long.

                        2. The 3D effect can be modified in-game. There are 3 levels to chose from.

                        3. The game never drops below 30fps.

                        4. They praise the dynamic lighting & shadow effects.

                        5. They describe at length how the controls work. And how the shooting mechanic seems to work better with the 3rd person/over-the-shoulder view. Instead of running in FPS mode (which is the default view). D-pad is mainly used to switch between weapons. Touch-screen for puzzles, maps and looking up your inventory.

                        6. They felt that the game had areas that were reminiscent of some of the old RE haunts. In that the buildings had a labyrinth/maze quality to them. Being able to get lost while exploring all the rooms and corridors of a particular area.

: The blob monster at the top is a mutated version of the ooze which was formed in the same way as a normal ooze does, except that the victim has better immune system. It says that the blade on its arm is capable of an one-hit kill. The underwater ooze depicted below occurs mainly on females, and it can hide its presence underwater using its shell that resemble the hair.

: fishes that got infected by the t-abyss is much more than the piranha. Apparently they can get onto land and attack too.

                          • REVELATIONS NEWS:

                            I. Producer Tsukasa Takenaka Talks Resident Evil: Revelations

II.- Resident Evil: Revelations StreetPass details

Capcom has thrown in a StreetPass feature in Resident Evil: Revelations that will net you new enemies and missions for the game’s co-op Raid Mode, as well as parts for customizing weapons, when you pass other RE: Revelations players in real life.

Revelations players can collect helpful in-game items when passing other 3DS owners of the game. These bits and pieces can then be dropped into the game's story mode by selecting a parachute icon.

Then in Raid mode, which remixes areas for co-operative missions, StreetPassing will unlock further locations and tougher enemies.
