DSC was both a good and bad addition to the Resident Evil world.
For one, I like all the little extras it added. I loved seeing more of Alexander, getting a better idea of what he looked like and seeing him as a real person instead of just a file.
And I love Alfred's characterization here. He's a lot more... Fun then he was in CV. I think the DSC Alfred is everything CV Alfred should have been. He's more insane, more dangerous and has an almost childlike way of doing things. I also love his redesign.
Of course, I hate Alexia, and think CV Alexia is superior. Though I do adore her mutation redesigns, her voice (Nanako from Persona 4? Really?), her personality... Everything is just... Ridiculous. In the original CV she was cold, uncaring, sophisticated and evil.
She was this in DSC but in a worse way. She was childlike in a way that was even worse than Alfred. And before you say to me "Oh, but she was frozen at 12! Of course she'll act like a child!" Well. No. She was a child who was known for acting older than she was. Being far more intelligent then she was. I would expect her behaviour from Alfred, but... Just not Alexia. It's not in her character. Alexia should be this sophisticated, elegant woman. Not an annoying brat.
Granted, DSC is unreliable, seeing as it's coming from Leon, who was told by Claire, who could have forgotten details. Or Leon himself could have forgotten a few details, given it's a few years since it happened.
