  • Well I appreciate the work you guys do. Irrespective or whether it took monies to do it.

From reading the last two pages of posts, it sounds like you were withing a reaching grasp of 1.5 and it fell through - out of interest how close was the deal to going through?

    • Ready to seal the deal and then...

      ...and then embedding fails

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

There is a new report in the news report section of THIA back in 2007.

The guy who was selling the RE1.5 bought it for a mere $300, and he knew we wanted it so he baited us and Dot held a fundraiser and managed to collate $3000.

The seller said it was too little and cut all contact with the community. Tbh, it's a clusterfuck. You should go take a read if you're interested, it's very long winded though.

        • Who cares about who has teh betaz anyway. Who cares about who bought, who sold, who had, who has, etc...? Who cares if they have Resident Evil Gameboy Color Beta, 3.5, 1.5, 3.14159265... they PAYED A LOT OF $$$$$ for it, they could toss all betas into fire, start a secret order of the Resident Evil fans, etc. because THEY PAYED FOR IT. (FIVE DIGITS. THAT'S A LOT OF CASH). They sold it for us after 4~5 years into possession, so what? Be glad that they did, we are not entitled to have anything from other people. Oh, Timmy doesn't want to let you play Super Mario Bros. 3? Sorry but you won't be playing it then.

EDIT: By the way, how many people actually took time to complete at least one cart without cheating his way through? And how many people at least tried to find hidden stuff in the ROMS? Everyone feels entitled to have it, but then when it is released only a handful of people enjoy it, at the expense of too many money. I guess it will happen more or less like that when 1.5 is released. People will find a "bug" on the 3rd room of the game and will just quit it and never play it again, even when it could be easily solved without cheats/hacks (i.e. the Control Room on RE GBC, everybody assumed to be a glitched door, when you just had to be in the right spot...

The 300 bucks was a story, from we we know now if that he probably didn't even own the game and he just had time with it..... as in a person he knew had a copy of it and he let him play/record it. That is if we are talking about the same douche bag, curator. But i mean, the story behind how curator got/played changes all the time. Even if he did only pay 500, the person he bought it from clearly didn't know what he had and curator got a steal of a deal.

Why are we even talking about how much this shit costs or who had it? TWO, may i repeat TWO builds of RE GBC have been released for us to play, the guys at assembler are doing amazing work with these carts already. A fully patched version will be released very soon, letting us play threw the whole game without any items/doors not working and that's an awesome thing because right now both carts are very broken.

Don't get me wrong, this is awesome that we finally got an unofficial release for this, but RE1.5 was so damn close to us a few times and we got nothing
We will get 1.5, believe me, there are more then a few copies out there.... people just keep it under wraps because if capcom found out who sold it to the community, that person would be in deep shit. But like i said, we will get it, if the money is right and we find the right person the game will get released. it's just everytime we get close EVERYONE tries to contact the person, the owner then feels like hes being bombarded by to many people and all of the sudden the game is gone. The guys at bioflames were very close with a pretty complete version as well with curator. There are more known copies out there then just two, that's all im saying

Definition of "ownership" is a bit of a tricky term. Sometimes, you get to borrow something, other times you only get to see something, and then you have the times when multiple people split the tab on something ...

So, anyway, let's entertain the idea that he said he never had it... problem being? Are you somehow entitled to having the facts there? Does it matter to you whether or not he had it? Why does it matter to anyone, actually? Bragging rights? "Told"? What about previous owners? Anonymous sources of origin?

This is not my argument but i remember a thread some years ago on a certain biohazard forum when dot said HIMSELF he's meeting with a fellow who has a copy of RE GBC and hes willing to sell it. The chances of dot never owning RE GBC are very slim to none..... But i'd do the same shit, why admit you have a game everyone wants.... just so they can hassle you every day, non-stop.

                  • "-As far as 1.5 goes; you'd be amazed to see what we'd be able to deliver if we actually got our hands on a legit copy of that thing. It'd be unlike anything anyone's ever done before."

I'm not saying this statement is false, but to me it sounds like you guys would just release this to the community for free..... I don't see that happening. I don't even see this happening, you guys finding a copy and telling everyone you found a copy only to have everyone bug you guys for a free release. I really wouldn't doubt it if someone on these forums has a copy or had some time with a copy.

                    • Wacthed a complete walkthrough of the game, Its been said that they were like 90% finished with the game before cancellation and really I'm going to have to say thats an over exaggeration.

I'd say that they were most likely about 60% of the way finished with the game before it was canned. Its not just the missing cut scenes, or weapons and items a that dont work, but more so the fact that the only enemy in the game is the zombie.

No hunters, crows, dogs, Yawn, Plant 42, sharks, spiders, or Tyrant.

Now I am completely oblivious as to how much longer it would have taken to have any other enemies programmed into this game, but being how limited the zombies are already I'd say that it would have taken a hell of a lot longer to get even the crows and dogs working.

Little let down, but not too surprised.

If you look on IGN's hands on, that was a way updated version and I'm assuming THAT was the version that was 90% complete, otherwise this version was before IGN's hands on.

I can at least tell you that you wouldn't see it the day we got it. THIA would never ask for money for it either, but we might open for donations directed to any involved third parties that for some reason could either need a reward for their hard efforts or for some reason just feels entitled to it for their contribution to the overall picture. Let's just say that some of us have the resources, skills, and connections to make some pretty cool things come to those who're patient - and we'd love for anyone who's actually on their own little rogue operation with actual results to get in touch, so that we could cooperate where possible and share with you the basic idea of what we've got in mind (and why it's possibly the most awesome thing since a meat thornado).

Anyway, let's just say that the idea, team, and talent to pull off this little spectacle we've had in mind has been in place since roughly 2007~2008, when it sadly slipped our hands once more. Let's just hope that that doesn't happen once more in the future.

I honestly think you should invite every Nirvana fan to your home to come listen to your records. After all, they're fans just like you and they've got a RIGHT to listen to dead people sing into a microphone, so who are you to stop them?

Nah that rare Nirvana stuff I have, while being limited to 1-10 copies each, only contains exactly the same music as found on retail releases, so there's not much point in that. But if anybody would like to come over to play as Leon on that airship, feel free to do so.
