I'm no expert on 1.5, but I'm pretty sure the pic above is depicting a second floor hallway, and not a basement one. With what little media we have, the 1.5 RPD is difficult to map since all the environments looks the same.

The brick type, ceiling and wiring, floor, and wall staining all match the basement design in general. The upper floors of the RPD appear much better maintained, similar to the 1F, and more decorated and designed. Yes we do lack a lot of footage from the upper floors to be 100% certain, but the overall look of the area fits far more with known basement design rather than known 2F design.Originally posted by biohazard_star View PostsigpicComment

Yes. The knob placement doesn't match up, but most likely a Capcom mistake.
And before there's any "but there's no shutter close to the door with the sign above it in the second pic":
Ta-da! You can see the door in the back and the shutter leading to the garage maintenance area. It's the only door in the garage. There's footage of all the walls in it, so this is certain.sigpicComment

Huh, from the inside it really looks like the shutter should be closer than it is. Probably another "capcom mistake", or maybe the pics were from two different beta periods, with slight adjustments for distance (like in the japanese re2 trial. the door Sherry used to crawl through in the retail version. in the trial version, the door was around the corner instead, but I'll be damned if the map screen showed you that). And I know why I didn't make the connection earlier. Back in the day I decided to grab this pic........
and use this 1 pic for reference instead of 4 separate pics. Didn't realize they had been shaved off a bit and cut out the shutter from view. Guess this is what I get for being lazy
Hope Dot and co. are still working on that 1.5 section for this site, packed with any and all intel, including full-sized pics. Sounding noobish after all these years just ain't right.

Oh, I have that pic. Problem is it doesn't show the shutters position in relation to the sign door. Sooooooo, if that's the only door, then how did this whole thing go down? Leon enters the basement, finds Ada, talks some, then gorilla busts out. Defeat gorilla, then have to go back into the garage to enter the sewers with Ada & Marvin in tow. That is, if those 2 scenes even happen at the same time. Knowing what they were saying in that Japanese text would help. Again, I find myself wishing for that 1.5 section of the site to appear soon. Y'know, is that even still being worked on? I don't think I've read anything on it for a while. I know how slowly these things can go, what with jobs and school and well, life in general. It is probably not going to happen. The original intent was to work on it after Dot50 completed the RE 1 sections. But his life and interests have pretty much ensured the probability that he won't even finish those, let alone get to the 1.5 section. So don't get your hopes up. Best to just discuss and ask questions in the 1.5 topics if the interest strikes. Don't worry about looking foolish for not knowing about some things. Yeah I was thinking it was something to do with a random placement error, hell maybe it didn't have a cut scene and the gorilla just broke its way out as Leon walked past guess we will never know until the game itself is leaked =P

Yeah i've seen that footage but it has me thinking that maybe before they even had the scenario planned that perhaps the event of the gorilla breaking out was not done as a cut scene form, in other words as you got close to the trailer it just burst out kinda like how the man spiders do in the labs and how the zombies break down the doors in REmake.
