  • Resident Evil Archives II

After over a dozen delays Resident Evil Archives II was finally released by Brady, and it was worth the wait.

The book is beautifuly presented, even more so than its Japanese counterpart. Many of the biographies and much of the concept art is displayed in larger detail, and with smarter presentation.

I have scanned most the book today, and you can download 600dpi scans from here ~

Question: Is this one riddled with grammatical errors like the first Archives?

I bought the first Archives when it came out, and the book itself is quite nice and full of pictures; however, a fair amount of the writing had simple errors like no one proofread or edited the book. It was like someone said "Okay, done, go print this for the final copies right now!"

Also, I vaguely remember something Ashford-related being wrong. UNACCEPTABLE!!!

Well, bear in mind that it was years ago that I read through this, and I have read a fair amount of Ashford material not in the Archives, but if memory serves something was wrong with either Alexander or Edward Ashfords' write-up. I think it was something most would consider trivial and easy to overlook, but if you have an Ashord obsession, you notice.

When I get home, I can flip through the book and see if it actually was that. It could have been the BradyGames CODE: Veronica strategy guide...Now, I really can't remember...

No need to get annoyed over something completely irrelevant then. :p

Just ordered it. Thank you for heads up, I actually didn't keep an eye on English translation release date, thinking it would take them forever to, these news kinda took me by surprise.

The font they used in this book is so much more pleasing to the eye than the grubby shit they used for the first book.

Can someone from the USA tell me if I'd expect to find a book like this in a game or book store in the USA? I'd rather get it in hand when I visit rather than order and pay shipping on a large book

That really depends on location in the US; not all bookstores carry the same things across the board. If you're visiting a major city (or a larger one at least) I doubt you would have any trouble finding it. I have seen it in both GameStops and Barnes & Noble by the city, but the rural ones did NOT have it.

To answer your question simply, you shouldn't have too much trouble finding it in a game store. I haven't been around yet to check, but I do recall seeing the first Archives on the shelves.

...The only problem with getting it at a GameStop is unless their books are wrapped in plastic, they seem to get shelf damage from others flipping through them...

I can't believe the first book "used" is going for over $150 to $900 wow wtf! And "New" over $200! On amazon.com anyways lol

I am glad I got mine for basically nothing at a game crazy a few years ago on the shelf and I had bought a resident evil bundle pack for RE5 I think and got it for free with a $20 Coupon!

Just ordered the Archives II book!

I bought 3 copies of Archives 2. Just in case it becomes pricey like the first book.

How much does the first book go for now ?

I got it about a year ago for $15.
