EMERGENCY REQUISITION ORDER

This aircraft will leave Raccoon City airspace immediately afterwards.

In addition, after having released all T, there is a cargo which you must transport from the area concerned, however details will be instructed later.

Birkin's profile in UC.

WILLIAM BIRKIN

The skilled scientist whom Umbrella is proud of.
The chief executive of the G-Virus development project.

He became the heart of t-Virus related research in order to take over Marcus' research.

However, he stopped getting along well with Umbrella Headquarters due to the circumstances of G-Virus development, and approached the U.S. Government secretly.

Therefore, he was attacked by the Security Service of Umbrella, and just before his death, administered G to himself and became a monster.
He has a wife Annette and only daughter, Sherry.

Marcus/UC.

JAMES MARCUS

The first director of the Umbrella executive training school.

He was devoted to virus research, and was a member of Umbrella's establishment that discovered the Progenitor Virus.

He was a cruel person that used Umbrella employees for experiments on the human body, the victims became nearly 20 people.

He was assassinated in 1988 by Wesker and Birkin who received a secret order from Spencer.

However, he achieved a mysterious revival ten years later and advocated revenge on Umbrella and world destruction, and and began to act secretly.

WESKER'S REPORT "TYRANT PROJECT PROBLEM"

Our research went into the third stage.

Obedient and proficient memory power, observes orders quickly.
A trained strengthened body, able to be used without rest, and without expressing complaint.
The ultimate organism biological weapon for combat, a package only ideal as a soldier...
It was to create a monster called the nickname "Tyrant".

However, there was a large barrier in the research from the beginning.
The acquisition of an "organism" to become the basis of the Tyrant was difficult.

This is because human adaptation as a "Tyrant" genetically was very limited.

A property of the "t-Virus" was the main cause there.
Although the "t-Virus variant" for producing "Zombies" and "Hunters" was adaptable for almost all humans, there was a problem which decays brain tissue considerably.

It cannot become a "Tyrant" if it cannot maintain some intelligence.

Birkin extracted a new "variant" which suppressed the influence on the brain to a minimum if it completely adapted in order to overcome the problem.

However, for the variant, there were extremely few humans with the genes to adapt to it.

The simulation of the Gene Analysis Section said that it was a ratio of "one in ten million".

Other than this, they merely become a Zombie.

When research progressed, we should have been able to develop a different type of "t-Virus" which much more humans adapted to as a "Tyrant".

But in order to advance the research, a human with full adaptation to the new "variant" was required first.

However, the talk of searching the whole nation of the United States for experiment bodies and scraping up only several dozen people was unrealistic.

Out of necessity, we took measures to gather samples by force from other laboratories which were relatively close to the ideal gene pattern.

We did not seem to be able to easily remove the reef which we ran aground.

Great anxiety covered us.

Finally found a source for transcripts of the Japanese files in Revelations. Immediately, I checked out this one. In particular, there is a reference to Tricell which is completely missing from the English file (replaced by the Global Pharmaceutical Consortium for no reason).

As our genetic mapping of the new virus (The Abyss) neared completion, the Global Pharmaceutical Consortium offered the assistance of their research branch via their contacts in an unnamed country.

What the writers actually wrote:

今回発見された新たなウィルス、ジ・アビスその遺伝子解析が完了に近づいた頃、某国組織のルートを通じて国 際的製薬企業の研究機関が協力を申し出てきた。

What this actually says:

Now, when the gene analysis of the newly discovered virus The Abyss neared completion, a research institution of an international pharmaceutical company offered assistance through a certain country organization.

These new translations clear up a few things. There are a few nudges to Separate Ways and BH5 in Wesker's keyword.

"Global Pharmaceutical Consortium"... is a mistranslation.

There's no "Global", and it's "Pharmaceutical (Industry) Federation". Alternatively, it's "Federation of Pharmaceutical Companies".

For reference, here is the original Japanese name: 「製薬企業連盟」. Now... try and get "Global Pharmaceutical Consortium" from that. Good luck.

I'd assume the 'FPC' would still include companies from all over the world, right? Then the English name is just a bit more clear in what it is than the Japanese version.

It's unspecified. There's a real-life organization called the EFPIA (European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations) and a couple of others that seem to be the inspiration for the Federation of Pharmaceutical Companies.
