  • Re5ident Evil: Retribution

    http://my.spill.com/profiles/blogs/p...esident-evil-5

The Umbrella Corporation’s deadly T-virus continues to ravage the Earth, transforming the global population into legions of the flesh eating Undead. The human race’s last and only hope, Alice (Milla Jovovich), awakens in the heart of Umbrella's most clandestine operations facility and unveils more of her mysterious past as she delves further into the complex. Without a safe haven, Alice continues to hunt those responsible for the outbreak; a chase that takes her from Tokyo to New York, Washington, D.C. and Moscow, culminating in a mind-blowing revelation that will force her to rethink everything that she once thought to be true. Aided by newfound allies and familiar friends, Alice must fight to survive long enough to escape a hostile world on the brink of oblivion. The countdown has begun.

Oh man am I excited for this movie. I think it's rather clever of them to place a 5 instead of an s to the word Resident. It's important to remind audiences just exactly how many of these movies they've made. The games can learn a thing or two from this.

Usually by the fifth film the novelty has worn out and people expect some unoriginal hashed out script. Very few sequels can get away with a solid fifth entry. And this time it seems as though the new Resident Evil will be even better than the last.

I mean the idea of Alice being the last hope for the human race really pushes the stakes here. That they have her going against Umbrella in the wake of a world wide outbreak makes things pretty intense. Adding Las Plagas into the plot makes perfect sense because the parasites were essentially an evolved form of the T-virus anyway so having Majini undead like in Afterlife only seems natural. And to imagine that something about her past will come into play really has me on edge. I have to know what these revelations are! They must be really important if they're bringing back half the cast that died in the last movies.

And what makes things even better is we have all these video game characters showing up in Alice's quest. I love playing these characters in the games and I cannot wait to see them come to life on the big screen just as I remember them. Who knows what kind of scary surprises are in store for Alice and the others. Man I got chills about this movie.

And just look at Milla in that outfit:

Fucking sexy I tell you. You'd have to be gay or stupid to not think that Alice is the hottest woman alive. Umbrella may be bad. But wearing their uniforms makes her look soooooooo goooooood.

I wonder how Alice can be the last hope for mankind when the whole fucking planet is dead or dying. Of course, Anderson can retcon it again saying "lol no, it' just the states that were turned in a desert the rest of the planet is fine. Also, here are communist zombies using AK-47's."

Smiley was just being overtly sarcastic in his topic, I just went along with the joke really...though I am dead serious about Audrey Hepburn being infinitely more sexy than Milla Jovovich and Kate Beckinsdale.

As Wrathborne said, Smiley is just being sarcastic. Do I really need to add sarcasm tags to the post? (This being spurred by Pikminister claiming that there had to be something wrong with him simply because he doesn't find Milla all that attractive in contrast so this is essentially Smiley's smartarse response to trigger other people that feel the same way to post in the topic stating as such).

Though I'm saying it just now, Smiley isn't going to force me to watch the next fucking movie (it was a choice between Afterlife or the Room - not particularly willing to watch either), I kept falling asleep and Smiley kept commenting throughout it "Well, at least there's not so much nudity in it, so thank god we don't have to see Milla's whole gorrilla nipples again". So I certainly know that he's just being sarcastic about the whole damn thing.

So, I could care less about the next film... I would care if they'd stop making such shitty films though (even seperate from the franchise itself, they're still pretty crap to me and I'm not even much of a moviegoer).

With Afterlife being in 3D you'd think the selling point would have been Milla's nipples popping out of the screen, but no. They're saving it for Retribution.

Still, I'd like to believe that Anderson learned something over the course of his career on how to make his next film better than the last. Then I screened Three Musketeers and watched Milla make it through a booby-trapped hallway TWICE with little thought or effort into it. In one hallway she sprinted through barely dodging all the traps while the Musketeers stayed behind watching her in awe. In the other she somehow manages to gracefully twirl midway through it leaving me to wonder how she avoided the razor sharp wire and how exactly was she capable to launch herself to the point of twirling like she did. How did she land? Did she have to twirl going back? It just cuts away so I'll never know.

With that in mind I'd like to see Audrey Hepburn accomplish that and look as good as Milla does.

This movie sounds uh.... great though! I also hear that there's going to be a big monster fight with Milla in this one. El Gigante anyone? I can't wait to see zombies, that have been deteriorating (for how long?), pick up weapons and suddenly be las plagas. Paul really has studied the games well. I give him credit. It's not like anyone here, or myself rather, could probably produce a better RE movie, without the budget, Hollywood actors, or a well written plot that would be more source friendly than this....[/sarcasm]

In all seriousness; who the fuck keeps giving this guy money? There should not be five of these movies already. Ugh.

I actually haven't put a dime of money towards these films since Apocalypse. Extinction, someone else paid for me, which I wish I could have given the money back to them. As for Afterlife, I managed to see it online, which succeeded in doing nothing but pissing me off by the end. I can happily say that I won't even be doing that for this one.

It's a shame to see these movies receive so many sequels. Each one getting better and better as they go... But hey, Paul is the biggest RE fan in the world, am I right?

He is. He loves the characters and the world of Resident Evil so much. And Capcom love him enough to make their games more action packed with little nods here and there to his accomplishments.

Oh rite my bad. In my defence there are actually fanboys of the movie out there who believe this shit. They think its the greatest thing since sliced bread. Glad your not one of them.
