Normally, I'd say it has to do with the movie's plot but...well, it's Resident Evil the Movie. It could mean anything. 'Think about Anderson's global domination, murder anyone locally who thinks his movies are shit' could be the message.
Hell, it's not like the titles mean anything either. There's wasn't a proper Apocalypse, there's been no Extinction, we haven't see any kinda Afterlife and I doubt anyone's about to find Redemption.

While I can't speak for Anderson... Jon, I think the "apocalypse" was Raccoon City being completely vaporized. I think that's a bit apocalyptic. As for Extinction... a lot of the plants in the world and oceans have withered and died. You see it in the first, like, minute of the movie. Afterlife probably refers to Alice once she gets her abilities purged from her by Wesker.

Even if I didn't absolutely despise these movies, I'd be starting to get annoyed by them. This is the fifth one already and there's no end in sight. This shit is getting obnoxious. Resident Evil is like the Call of Duty of awful movie franchises.

This is a problem with the games just as much as the movies. Difference being that eventually Milla and Anderson will fizzle out. Capcom will make more games.Originally posted by Vector View PostEven if I didn't absolutely despise these movies, I'd be starting to get annoyed by them. Well, the good news is that the next movie after this one is going to be the last one in this particular series. Anderson has gone on record saying so. The bad news? The success of these films will only convince the studio to produce this exact type of action movie when the franchise gets rebooted. So you can look forward to this same kind of stuff for another 10 years or so.Last edited by Kaine; 04-23-2012, 05:08 PM.

Ack, my true name revealed!Originally posted by Canas Renvall View PostWhile I can't speak for Anderson... Jon, I think the "apocalypse" was Raccoon City being completely vaporized. I think that's a bit apocalyptic.
It wasn't much of an Apocalypse, though. An Apocalypse should be more world ending. It's the diet coke of Armageddon?
I'd agree if even Anderson hadn't figured that was violating logic so hard that he forgot to ever mention it again and plants mysteriously showed up in the next movie. Because, y'know, everyone would be dead due to lack of oxygen. Except Alice. I suspect she may be able to not breath.Originally posted by Canas Renvall View PostAs for Extinction... a lot of the plants in the world and oceans have withered and died. But yes, enough stuff died before the movie I guess you could call it Extinction...but shouldn't a movie be about what happens in the movie, rather than the very dodgy backstory?
Maybe. I'm still not sure she lost them. She can make a shotgun fire frickin' huge coins and not explode in her hand taking her whole arm with it. I mean, if she can find gunpowder surely she can find a decently sized lump of metal? It makes the least sense, name wise.Originally posted by Canas Renvall View PostAfterlife probably refers to Alice once she gets her abilities purged from her by Wesker.
