Well, really it was CAPCOMS fault for making a short, sloppy game filled with retcon and a villain...who really should have been something more. On reflection Marcus could have been a bigger character and a more ambitious villain...instead of 'Mr. turn the world into an inferno of seething hate'.

Should have just wanted to fuck Umbrella completely really.

      1st - RE5
The storyline, as well as the characters were fucked up. I can't even recognize Jill after "Only you can save the world, Chris". Not to count that there's absolutely no horror elements, and the game overral is easy. I mean, ammunition comes from the sky, you can buy weapons wherever you are, you can save anywhere and the game have continues. Not to mention the co-op.

      2nd - ORC
I know it's a spin-off, but this game is pure generic war game of the new generation. The worst of all is that some of the bullshit that happens during the game will become canon, and they get inspiration from RE movies. Now what? Will Alice become a character?

      3rd - Survivor 2
Survivor 1 was actually good, you know why? Because it actually has a plot. This FPS copy of Code Veronica with non-sense scenarios and horrible gameplay shouldn't be even called "Resident Evil", more like "Doom: Code Veronica".

These are based on what I've played and the level of personal enjoyment. I've been lead to believe that Survivor should really take the cake, but I've never pursued it.

Best of the worst = RE5. The gameplay is fine, really. Not innovative but that could have been excused if the story wasn't so... So derp. 3 out of five times I enjoyed blowing up Wesker in that volcano.

Middle of the worst = Outbreak. This is embarassing, but I never made it out of the first... Friggin'... Place... I was stuck in that hole for so long and I'm sure I'd have eventually figured it out, but I just got bored. And the stilted interaction between the characters just put me right off. 2 out of five times I laughed when Cindy nailed a zombie to the wall.

Worst of the worst = Survivor Code Veronica. CVX is my favourite RE game so to see it turned into this mess was cringe-tastic. Not to mention half the time it just decided it didn't like my light gun, a problem the far more enjoyable Dead Aim never seemed to have. The story was gone, nothing made sense, and I'm pretty freakin' sure they dissed all of us by having Nemesis appear in it. Not only is Nemmie too iconic to be shoved as a cheap gimmick into that thing, I can't be the only one who recalls how relieved I was after I FINALLY put that beast down in RE3. Having him there all hale and healthy just felt insulting. Not even 1 out of five times I cringed at Steve's voice.

I'm afraid you crossed the line Young Lady, your punishment is to now play RE Gaiden.

Agreed. Very, very, very much agreed. There is absolutely no 'spark', nothing interesting in the Outbreak games to make me want to play them. Don't be embarrassed, I never made it out of the first chapter either. I'd probably rather eat a turd rather than to play these turds again. They are so bland and boring (online or off). And that CV gun game is terrible. I forgot about that one.

And I was going to add ORC to my list also.

The trailers explain EVERYTHING. And there's pieces of gameplay on the net.
The game is just to shoot anything you find. It's like SOCOM + Call of Duty + Resident Evil.
There's a piece of review that stats Nemesis will have mal-functions. Is he a robot or something?
I think yes, since he's copied from the movie.

There's also a scenario of the game where a broken taxi and some police cars can be found.
This was obviously taken from the first movie ending.

And worst: Capcom-Unity's FAQ states that some parts of the game will become canon.

I call BS, on Pro it is probably the hardest RE there is and ammo is really rationed, with the Outbreaks on hardest being the only rival, but they were hard from crappy design, RE5 is just hard. Most people do not know this though as I've never encountered anyone trying to play Pro without infinite ammo turned on.

Just because they added "Pro Mode", does that mean the game is hard?
You get your ass kicked in normal mode when you play RE1, Outbreak and Code Veronica.

Anybody can add the "Impossible Mode" to their games, it doesn't change the fact they are easy.

You do realize if you get hit even once in RE5 pro mode you go into dying status. That doesn't happen in RE1, Outbreak or Code Veronica. Normal mode in those games are FAR easier if you know how to play classic RE.

                          1. Resident Evil Gaiden
                          2. Resident Evil Dead Aim
                          3. Leaving this spot open for RE6... I have little faith in that so-called reboot. Prove me wrong Capcom.

People who put yet to be released games on their lists just baffle me. No hindsight bias for you guys if the games do turn out bad, also.

                            3. Resident Evil 5. Shameful for such a big release in the series canon. Instead of polishing the gameplay of RE4 to such a level that RE2 did for the first one, we get a diluted version with forced co-op and arbitrarily changed around features. The game takes itself so damn seriously, making the plot and dialogue look even worse than the older games, a huge feat. If I don't hear the word "partner" repeatedly in another mainline RE title, I know another useless character was done away with, and good riddance.

                            2. RE Zero - A whimper of a title, with some good ideas in an overall poor package. I complain that RE4 gets to be a chore to play through in the middle of the castle, this is a chore throughout. For the last game in the old style (not counting the Outbreaks), and with some impressive visuals, this is another unfortunate case. Instead of crimson heads, another great way to consider resources and pump up the tension, we have these annoying leechmen who need to be taken out with unwieldy Molotovs.

                            1. RE Survivor 2 - This is kind of a cheat, considering how miniscule of an actual contribution to the series this is in concept alone. Still, the only thing slightly amusing out of this is the files, especially that guy who becomes obsessed with a spider. I can think of excuses to play the Outbreaks, Suvivor, Dead Aim, and others, but I don't have any urge to import a compatible PS2 or something to play this. Also a cheat because I've never played this, just seen all it has to offer in an LP, and I haven't seen anything of Gaiden, although I'm sure it'd knock RE5 out of here if I did.

As I said, Pro Mode doesn't change the fact that RE5 was awfully easy in both Normal and Hard mode. And I ever doubt someone would really consider putting Pro Mode into analysis for a game review.

Shenanigans! We're talking about as a whole, not the difficulty.
