Disappointing.
I wish I was more into the characters like you guys. But I've played the games for the gaming experience they offer. Never really cared 'bout who I was controlling or playing as. I even played Zero despite me thinking that Rebecca was one of the most annoying characters ever (not as bad as Steve but almost). But the puzzles/exploration elements were decent. That got me through.
I don't really wanna play another RE action shooter game. Not even Silent Hill is an option these days... trying to find survival horror is a lost cause.Stuff to remember: Avoid forums if you're having a bad day.

Seriously though, I think we'll see survival horror gameplay in the offshoot games like Revelations, while the numbered games are going to be like...well, we all saw the trailer.

Disappointing.

But we all knew this was going to be an ACTION title... Anyone expecting a rebirth of the "good ol' days" was in denial. I wasn't expecting not even a little bit of SURVIVAL HORROR on RE6. Sadly the genre is practically dead for now. I'll try to enjoy RE6 for what it is. As an action shooter, it looks promising.
And yeah, go ahead and enjoy this 'for what it is'. I don't have to.Stuff to remember: Avoid forums if you're having a bad day.

It is Action Horror, come on people why do you say there will be no horror from this one gameplay showing, that is trying to impress with set-pieces? what about the already confirmed tension packed demo from Captivate? what about that under water section with corpses? what about the Degeneration styled infected plane? what about the (IMO) impressive creature designs, does it not bring some sort of horror to see a normal man with a gun mutate into a dynamic monstrosity?
It will have action for sure, but so far compared to RE5 this is packing much more horror already.
And best of all from what we have seen? the AI partner does not interfere at all.

I do want my scares back, but I think it's too late for RE, at least with the main entries. I'll take my hopes for Revelations 2 though.

Laura Bailey's acting at the beginning of that trailer was absolutely fantastic. Too bad Christian Lanz' acting as Leon isn't as strong as hers, it's a bit jarring to hear her being so expressive and emotional while he's so calm.Last edited by Kei_M; 06-04-2012, 06:12 PM.

And yeah, RE6 does have horror elements in it. No doubt. But are they scary? If you go into a fight armed to the teeth w/almost unlimited ammo to face 'zombies' (Ganados/Majini, really), the fear factor goes out the window - thus making all those horror elements irrelevant.

And I really think Revelations 2 will be for Vita according to some rumors I've read. Damn Capcom... I'm not loaded.
Originally posted by Kei_M View PostI sympathize, I loved the classics as anyone else but I got into the series when RE2 came out on the 64, and didn't really get to play the rest until I got a gamecube, so I'm not as connected to that style as others maybe. I'm not the hardest to scare, so any sort of tension filled situation like this would probably get my heart pumping and that's all I really need.
It's just that the demographics have changed and ppl want action not survival horror.Last edited by Pikminister; 06-04-2012, 06:20 PM.Stuff to remember: Avoid forums if you're having a bad day.
