I'm also hoping for a flashback DLC that will feature Jake's parents.

xD All colors aside, I'm pretty excited for a 'drunk off his ass and pissed' Chris Redfield.

And if Thundercats is featured somewhere in that DLC, you know that Capcom regularly peeps through your blinds at night.

Eerie similarities have already occurred. I've been stocking up on tinfoil.

Capcom knows full well that showing any glimmer of horror would take away from the experience, and they want to genuinely surprise their customers when they show horror in their dramatic horror title. So it makes sense to chalk each demo full of action and suspense to get every fan excited.

And I doubt this is the extent of their action. It's just a tease of what's to come. The trailer cuts away during some of these intense moments, but October can't come soon enough.
Most video game trailers (and movie trailers in particular) focus heavily on the action. Ever seen trailers for a Hitman game? Despite being a series focused on stealth, the trailers are 100% action. Trailers for Tarantino films are action-packed, but the movies themselves are anything but. The majority of sales come from action fans. Why wouldn't they market to them? The exact same is true for this series. Almost every single trailer for every single BIO game is an action-packed fuckfest of the most epic music track in the game with plenty of Zombie murder and gunfire.

I'd rather be surprised by horror than see it all before I actually experience it for myself, and be left feeling unaffected. Would the Cerberus jumping through window scene in BH1 or the Licker appearance scene in BH2 have affected you as much if you had seen them in a trailer?

          • I know which is why I agree. It makes the most sense. And even on the action scale of things I cannot wait to see how they top the chopper scene with Leon.

            • Look at all this glorious horror.

Nothing says FEAR and HIGH-TENSION like J-ROCK!

Notice how they happen to say "Realistic Action!" for BH1 in 1996?

              • I wouldn't say glorious. More like terrorizing. But yes, it does look horrific. Go figure right?

Chapter selection confirmed. However, you can jump chapters back and forth into any of the three campaigns.
Lol, even Capcom employees chuckle at how ridiculous another letter-virus is...
                  Mass production? Ridiculous!

                  • I wouldn't mind them showing one or two horror sections - indeed, it sounds like this bit where a guy has to watch his daughter slowly changing is going to be horrifying to watch, but I haven't seen it myself. I would like to see some horror in China, just to be certain that there actually is some past what sounds like a very cool intro, but understand why they don't want to show too much. It's like story - enough will make you want more, but too much will spoil the game. Of course, Capcom rarely feels the need to not shove as much story down our throats as possible...

The older trails were also action orientated some of the time, sure. But there was no reason to expect no scares in the game. I didn't bitch about the RE4 trailers - in fact, I thought they looked awesome. Enemies that put up ladders to come and get me where I'm hiding? Crap! Between not having a reason to expect no serious horror and the fact I didn't know 3.5 had been removed, as I wasn't online much then, meant I didn't see a reason to worry. I just figured they were focusing on the cool action bits and new gameplay.

Man, I was so excited when I got to the castle and thought some of the creepy stuff was going to kick, the Plagas was going to make Leon start tripping balls and seeing ghosts everywhere...and instead I got midget Napoleon, giant attack statues and sarcasm. I was gutted by the end of the castle.

I don't mean to get off topic, but am I the only one here that enjoyed the interactions between Salazar and Leon. It brought humor, something the series never really had.

                      • i like the chase scenes more than fight , they're pretty terrifying and when i was watching that chase scene , my heart was bounding "little bit eh" still has overused action ...
And what the FUCK is that "Go here , go there" icon , its stupid .... not even realistic ... eh
Darkness : Tactical reload wasn't even in deadly silence LMAO
                        ^ Lol ...

It's fine, if that's the tone of the game. But it veered RE4 even further away from being a horror game, which wasn't what I expected on my first play through. As I said, I was expecting to reach the castle and stuff from 3.5 to kick in, and Salazaar...doesn't qualify. It was a big part of what left me with the feeling, 'Well, that was a cool game...but not a Resident Evil game.'

What about if there's only like...just one or two horror sections in the entire game? xD

                            • Then I weld together the producer's teeth for being a tease. But honestly, that is my biggest concern. That Leon's high tension, high horror intro will be awesome and then, 'Welp, enough of that bullshit. Here, ride this motorbike while firing missiles at those guys on bikes. The end sequence will involve a rocket, two B.O.W firing satellites and Queen playing live. Then you can get on with the rest of the game. I'll give you a hint as to what you can expect - Micahel Bay is crying, because we bought all the fucking explosions in the world and put them in this thing.'

                              • In the latest trailer we see Leon under water with corpses and maybe other things, on a plane in a confined space were most likely a BOW or zombies has attacked (This gave me a real Degeneration feel which is awesome) It's obvious from the trailer alone we will get more horror based events.
