So I am really struggling to see what the craze is about RE6 on this forum. Several other people I have spoken to think it looks like shit. Anyone feel like filling me in on what it is exactly that is so appealing about this game? Apart from the improved dialogue of course. I wont knock you on your views I am just confused as hell and feel like the whole forum is playing a trick on me in pretending to like it. I really hate the gameplay like ALOT, so can someone please tell me what it is that I am missing?

I'd say its refreshing a lot of what they have going on for the action in the game, even though I would really prefer to see some more horror and suspense in it.

Overall, even if it doesn't end up being a horror-focused title, it will still be a great game.PROJECT Umbrella - The BIOHAZARD/RESIDENT EVIL Compendium

I hate to say it but Capcom is right, Survival Horror just does not sell anymore. I mean Survival Horror like static camera angles and tank controls but there is half way points to keep fans like us happy and Resident Evil 6 so far is looking like a great attempt to please us while still making a product that can sell in todays market.
Even Dead Space 3, a series that retained so much of that horror is basically doing what RE5 did for sales. I must admit if Dead Space 3 has co-op similar to RE5, optional or not it still would kinda be funny.
People say Dead Space has taken the "torch" from RE but in reality? no it has not because it still needs RE to keep it going. It took RE4 to show everyone that over the shoulder can work and be popular, Resident evil 5 did co-op which is liked by many and now Dead Space wants a piece of the action.
Anyway slight rant over.

Some of these options I would have said 'meh' too but they've grown on me some now, the more creative use of background environments has definitely been a welcome surprise. I like seeing buildings collapsing around you, being able to climb across poles and leap over areas.
While some of this is expanded from RE4, its nice to see it being much more fluid as well as being put around in more than one or two places in a map. I'm still iffy about the vehicles int he game because I've never been a fan of them, but we'll see what happens.

But I have the common sense to see that Survival Horror is dead and it will never come back to the series. Never. That Resident Evil as been buried.
Good thing I enjoy both styles equally.Last edited by Vito; 06-07-2012, 07:28 PM.
